Enjoyed a 4 day Nile cruise in Apr/May departing from Aswan to Luxor including. It’s simply unappreciable the history and sights you get an opportunity to experience 3000-4000 years of Egyptian history. Each location seemed to surpass the last, Abu Simbal is a very special place and despite the journey to reach it is well worth it. Each day brings an awe inspiring temple or tomb whose age is only matched by the beauty of the artwork, architecture and engineering on display. The trip was well organised throughout from airport pickup to departure, high quality transport throughout. The cruise was very enjoyable with a nice balance of cruising and sight seeing. A special thank you to our guide John who made the trip sharing his knowledge and passion has Egyptian history and culture throughout.

We did the three day cruise from Aswan to Luxor. It was an unforgettable experience and we couldn’t be happier. Everything was great (the comfort of the cruise ship, the food, the itinerary). Journey to Egypt is a professional company and takes good care of its customers. Our tour guide, John, was fantastic from start to finish. He is very knowledgeable and friendly, but also relaxed and easy to get along with. For each site he gave a good explanation of the context (perfect for people with little knowledge about Ancient Egypt). He showed us the highlights of each site and answered all our questions. I highly recommend him as a guide (he is very experienced). It is completely safe to do a Nile cruise (we went in May 2024) and you will have an amazing time!

Boat was nice, sun deck was fully equipped. The guide (John) was really professional, knowledgeable and helpful. The temples are amazing, very impressive. Even though we had to wake up early, the schedule was well organised, not too packed. The cabin was quite small for 3 people because it was a twin cabin with an extra bed.

The Tour guide JOHN was excellent, explaining everything and answering all questions with knowledge. Egypt right now appears to be quite safe to travel. We were lucky enough to be upgraded on our tour boat from 5 star to 5 star plus and the vessel MS BLUESHADOW 1 was very comfortable and meals very good but we had problems staying connected to their internet even though we had paid the top rate.

The cruise was a pleasure - the boat Blue Shadow 1 was 5 star and the MD of Journey to Egypt had upgraded us from a 4 star to 5 star. The excellent staff, facilities and food were of excellent standard. It might have been a bonus to have access to a general area for teas and coffee making facilities and easier internet access. I was more significantly impressed by our tour guide from Journey to Egypt - John - whose extensive knowledge of Egypt was as a result of his degree in Egyptology. He was able and keen to answer quite extensive questions beyond the information 0provided and significantly more than one might expect about the time available and the tours of the Temples and Tombs we visited. Further , John made arrangement of transport and the access to sites absolutely seamless . He made sure we arrived at sites early and arranged the tours so that we had the least crowds possible to view the sites. His reminder that even 5 minutes at the early part of the day could make a big difference which we came to realise really could make a difference to the numbers of other people attending g the sites. He went further by assisting us to arrange tours & transport for additional family after the tours we had arranged. A very highly expert tour guide! Thank you John for making this tour and cruise so successful and such a pleasure.

Our experience with Mena was truly memorable. What set him apart from others was definitely his extremely thoughtful personality. From the water and chips he carried for us the morning he met us, down to organising medicines when I needed them and finally to even making sure we reached our eventual destination after the cruise - no effort was too much and every detail was looked into. His knowledge of the various sites we visited was great and he was able and willing to answer the multitude of questions we kept throwing his way. Wouldn’t hesitate to recommend him as an extremely trusted guide and support in Egypt.

My wife and I had the most incredible Nile Cruise experience with Journey to Egypt Travel. Mena was our tour guide and we can honestly say he was the best guide for that we’ve had on any trip. We missed our arrival flight but he managed to rearrange the itinerary to make sure we didn’t miss anything. He went the extra mile to make sure we had all the required information and accommodated any special requests we had. We would highly recommend Mena and Journey to Egypt travel for anyone interesting in touring the Nile, which was truly a trip of our lifetime.

We have been very lucky to travel to a few countries from the US and the 3 Night Aswan to Luxor Nile Cruise with Journey to Egypt was one of the best trips we have ever taken. It was a wonderful combination of once in a lifetime sightseeing combined with peaceful relaxation, and the best tour guide (John) we have ever had! Safety: We did a lot of research prior to going and honestly, we found that all concerns over visiting Egypt are from a lack of information and an over generalization of the country’s geographical location. Egypt is a peaceful country and we felt very safe the entire time, even safer than we have in some large European cities. And once you’re on the cruise from Aswan to Luxor, it’s countryside-like sailing with beautiful scenery. Journey to Egypt/Guide: Before choosing our tour company, I combed through hundreds and hundreds of reviews, and one thing that stood out about Journey to Egypt was that it had positive reviews AND unlike other companies - 100% of people said they’d recommend them to a friend. I can absolutely see why. John, our guide, was honestly the best guide we’ve ever had. He has the perfect style and personality for a tour guide - plenty of information, but not too much talking and every detail of the trip perfectly executed. I won’t give away all his secrets, but he thinks of everything small and large, and we are so grateful we had him. He has set a new bar for our expectations! Boat: Our boat (M/S A Sara) was excellent. The vessel had nice finishes and everything was very clean. We consistently saw people cleaning and polishing during our stay, as well. The beds were comfortable and the shower had more pressure than the Airbnb we stayed at before arriving! The food was served buffet style and had many good options at every meal. The staff were really friendly and attentive, too. I appreciated that the policy is to tip at the end of the cruise, so you never felt pressured to be tipping, which is helpful in Egyptian culture where tips are highly sought after. I’m not sure if we’ve ever had a trip go so perfectly. It was amazing and I would highly recommend it.

It was an amazing experience, Mena was the best tour guide ever! History of ancient Egypt is amazing and Mena was the best teacher ever responding every question we asked! It is a once in a life time experience!

Fantastic experience from start to finish and beyond with Journey to Egypt, traveling with three children under 7. They were responsive and helpful with pre-booking enquiries, great contact during the trip itself and then following up on outstanding items afterwards. Our tour guide, Mena, was knowledgeable, friendly and gave great advice and tips as well as history and background. He took into account our group composition and needs at all times. I went on the 3-night cruise from Aswan with my father in November 2023. First thing to say - Egypt was very safe and doesn't seem to be affected by the nearby conflicts at all. On a map it might look close but in practice you're very far away. We had an amazing time! We'd never been on a cruise or a guided tour before and we were worried about it being restrictive but it was perfect. There were enough scheduled trips to keep busy but there was also lots of time to relax on the boat. The boat was lovely and the staff very friendly and helpful. The food was great too. Our tour group was small - four people total (on the boat there are people on different tours). I would also say that as a foreigner getting around and organising entry to all the sites without a tour guide would probably be quite stressful and so it was a real advantage to have someone else sort it out. Aswan, the Nile and Luxor are incredibly beautiful and all the sites we saw were amazing. Our guide George was fantastic - very knowledgeable not only about ancient Egypt, but also recent Egyptian history as well e.g. My dad was really interested in the dams in Aswan and we learnt a lot about those too. George took us to see them even though its not usually a part of the tour. I don't think there was a question he couldn't answer! (His English, of course, was perfect as well). He was also very helpful to us - on the last day my father left his passport in a jacket pocket on the tour bus and we only realised once the tour was over and we were at our next hotel. George went out of this way to drop it back for us. It was much appreciated.

Mena Tharwat was our guide. We booked our cruise through Journey to Egypt. Mena did a wonderful job! He made us very comfortable. Always bringing us water and making sure our every need was met. He did a great job of explaining things to us and preparing us for what was next. We visited alot of amazing places and he was very good at explaining things to us and answering all of our questions. John our tour guide was amazing, very friendly and well look after us. Tell us many story what we should know about every sites not too much and too short but good to understand what we will see and what happened. Many trip advise what to do and what to avoid the whole time of the trip. Egypt is safe from war and no danger from war at all.

We had a fantastic time on the tour. Mena our tour guide gave exceptional service ensuring we knew exactly what we would be doing at all times. He was both professional and easy to have a laugh with at the same time. My husband and I were not feeling 100% one day and he altered our tour to suit making sure we didn’t miss anything. The time we spent on the cruise was excellent; the experience was very good, nice, clean, confiable and excelente service, congratulations to the chef for the delicious food, especially the typical Egyptian dishes. The atmosphere was very pleasant, and everyone was respectful and helpful. However, the highlight of the trip was undoubtedly gaining a better understanding of Egypt's ancient history. Despite its vastness, our guide, Mena Tharwat, explained everything with great patience and super clear examples, making every second at the temples meaningful. Additionally, Mena was very kind to us, ensuring we always had fresh water, taking good care of us, helping with purchases (buying souvenirs in Egypt can be challenging), and we enjoyed his company throughout the trip. He is very kind and warm person and has a wealth of knowledge about Egyptian history.

This was a trip I had been waiting my whole life to take. I booked prior to anything going on in the Middle East. I was a little bit nervous about going, but I decided to stay with my plans. I am so happy I did. This trip up the Nile river was simply amazing! Not once did I feel unsafe or threatened. The conflict which is far away, wasn’t even a thought. If you are worried, I would suggest that you go! Because of the conflict it’s quite empty at the sites, so that’s an added bonus! Anyway, my guide, John, was amazing! Talk about white glove treatment! He took care of everything!! Your own personal tour guide. He is extremely knowledgeable about everything and just a pleasure to be around! He knows exactly where to go when you get there so you don’t miss the important things. You then have time to yourself to walk around and take pictures. Highly recommended!
