Bassil is THE MAN!!! We enjoyed an amazing afternoon at the beautiful city of Petra. Bassil was knowledgeable, kind, and AN AMAZING PHOTGRAPHER!!! Highly recommend for anyone wanting a personal touch when visiting one of the New Wonders of The World! The Treasury is beautiful and sight to see.

Booking Bassil for a guided tour Petra was one of the best decision we made. His knowledge of the site was impeccable. Besides the main attractions, he took us to the most beautiful cave in Petra (that was not mentioned in any map or YouTube clips), which we would've never found on our own. We had such an awesome time with him that we booked him again for the second day. On the second day, instead of climbing 900 steps on the crowded narrow trail to the monastery, he took us through the open back country trail with beautiful scenery, no crowds, and no shop keepers hustling you to buy souvenirs from them. My 2 day visit to Petra became an extraordinary experience with Bassil as guide. He suggested the perfect two day itinerary: Day 1 - start the day wirh aguided walking tour with Bassil to see Petra highlights; afternoon: explore Petra by yourself. Day 2 - see Little Petra and approach the Monastery from the back trail. It was perfect ! And as a bonus Bassil aranged a dinner with a local family to enjoy the Joradian local dish Mansaf. I highly recommend him as a guide, as you will learn a lot about Petra and Jordan and its incredibly generous and friendly people. Thank you Bassil!

Petra has more to offer than just taking a golf cart for photographing The Treasury, which is the iconic symbol of this place; it's a mountainous city with numerous hidden paths and views. You need a guide to help you navigate these. I felt fortunate to have this guide. I initially chose a 7 AM time, but due to a potential rain forecast, the guide, who was excellent, checked and contacted me to reschedule. We strolled comfortably, and he pointed out many spots that I might have overlooked on my own. We hiked a bit to see fantastic viewpoints, and he made it so easy that I didn't think it was achievable before. I discovered spots I didn't expect Petra to have. If you plan to visit Petra, this is the guide I recommend.

Excellent tour and a nice start to the morning. Bassil was very good at taking photos as well to capture the memory. 3 hours might not seem like much time but we covered all the basics and mapped out a plan that I could follow the rest of the day.

No question, Bassil is one of the best tour guides we’ve ever met. We spent almost 6 hours with him in Petra and saw the main highlights. His tour is informative, magical and fun. It felt very much like a tour designed for us, the pacing was perfect and the detail pitched at just the right level. But it wasn’t just a tour of Petra; it was also an opportunity to learn about life in Jordan from Bassil - which was fantastic. And we laughed a lot. If you’re going to Petra, we can 100% recommend Bassil.

Bassil was a delight. He managed our trip expertly walking with us to the far end of Petra during the three hours. He then allowed us to walk at our own pace back to the exit. That way we had the maximum amount of guided time and we could revisit places that really interested us on the return walk on our own dime.

Bassil was wonderful! It was great to see Petra while learning about its history. Using a laser pointer, he would show details high up on facades which I would have missed if I were by myself. Also a great photographer- he knows the secret spots of Petra so I got great pics. After the tour he gave me directions to the Monastery (exhausting climb but worth it), even texting me back when I thought I had lost the trail. Thanks Bassil!

First, I wanted to say that if you are planning a trip to Jordan in the near future, it is very safe! I'm a solo female traveler, and I felt very safe the entire time I was there - especially when in the capable care of guides like Bassil! As for the tour itself, Bassil met me at my hotel lobby and walked me to the Petra entrance. He was extremely informative. He knew all about each of the sites and even when there wasn't a major site in front of us, he was providing other fascinating information about Petra. He's been a guide there for a long time and also knew all the best spots for unique photo opportunities. As a solo traveler, he helped out as photographer as well! Bassil was so friendly and kind in addition to being informative. Excellent service! I didn't want the tour to be over when we were done! As for pre-planning, he was very communicative via WhatsApp. The morning of my tour had some questionable weather in the forecast, and he was on top of it by reaching out the day before to discuss. If you are looking around for a Petra guide, I cannot recommend Bassil highly enough!!
