Sam our tour guide was very knowledgeable about the island. He shared the deep rich history of the island and changes he experienced growing up on the island as well. We loved everything about the tour and the fact that it wasn’t on a big bus with dozens of other people. Sam shared great tips on where to go and eat while on the island and he was right! The text communication was great making arrangements for the trip. We have already shared with family about taking this tour.

Dave picked us up in Oak Bluffs for our 3 hour tour and it flew by. His facts and stories kept us captivated. He is a fountain of knowledge. I would have paid for a longer tour. His steers to food and foodstuffs were spot on. What a local treasure Dave is!

We took a tour of Martha’s Vineyard during our time in Boston before the marathon. This is unfortunately the off season for tourism there. I called Martha’s Vineyard Tour and Transport to see if they could make arrangements for a special tour for our small group (3 of us). The person that coordinated our trip was Annette. She was very responsive, accommodated our schedule, told us the which/when/how to catch the ferry, and arranged for the guide to pick us up at Oak Bluffs. Our guide Rich was fantastic! Perfect! He was interesting, enthusiastic, & funny. As a lifelong resident of Martha’s Vineyard, he had so much knowledge about his home. He seemed to be casually talking, rather than giving a canned tour. I feel like he knows all of the 25,000 year round residents. When we scheduled the tour, we were hoping to hear about local lore regarding celebrities and backstory about filming Jaws. We got all of that and more. The tour covered the entire island and included history of the Europeans and original inhabitants. He talked about the wildlife, also. I was surprised how peaceful and secluded almost the entire island felt. Rich had been an EMT/fireman for many years, and had many stories about his encounters. One of the things that made the tour great was his stories. His commentary in general about the island generated tons of questions, that he was glad to answer. We highly recommend Martha’s Vineyard Tour and Transport!

Very glad we booked this tour. We took the Steamship Authority ferry from Woods Hole to Oak Bluffs which arrived at 10:15 - the tour was due to leave Oak Bluffs at 10:30 so was perfect time as the pickup point was a short walk across from the ferry terminal. The minibus wasn't full which was nice, so we could all sit comfortably and our tour guide/driver - Bart - was excellent. A local to Martha's Vineyard and he was very knowledgeable and informative throughout the tour of the island. He is also very interested in geology and gave us all a little lesson when we stopped at Aquinnah lighthouse showing us various samples of rocks and where they had been found. It was well worth doing the tour as first time visitors to Martha's Vineyard it gave a good insight into the different areas of the island and we saw a number of locations from the film Jaws (we will have to re-watch the film now to see what we can recognise!) When the tour finished, Bart recommended a nice pub which brewed it's own beer and some good lunch options too. We would recommend this tour to anyone visiting Martha's Vineyard. We won't forget Bart who lives in Simpson Street :-)

Dave A. was such a terrific tour guide !! Having lived 50+ years on the Island, the stories and insights were so engaging! We stopped at some amazing spots (local coffee shop, glass blowing studio), as we travelling the perimeter of the island, that were unexpected and awesome! 5 stars for Dave!

Phil was an excellent tour guide. He was very knowledgeable about the area, funny, and kept the tour interesting.

Our tour guide Devin was amazing! He made sure we were comfortable and gave us interesting facts about Martha's Vineyard. We had the opportunity to stop several times to take photos, explore, and shop. I loved the small group and traveling in a van. It made it much more personal. We were fortunate to get on this tour last minute because our other tour was canceled.

Devon was a terrific guide with plenty of info to share as a lifelong islander. Terrific tour. Go in October when crowds have gone.

What a fabulous tour this is. Rich, our driver and guide was fantastic. As someone who has lives on the island for 35 years, he has extensive knowledge of the island and many stories about the island’s history and who lives there. Fantastic tour

Phil was a wonderful tour guide. We heard so many stories about people on Martha’s Vineyard! I had no idea. And we saw incredible sights! So glad we went on the tour. I learned so much. I am watching Jaws when I return home.

Rich was our guide and really knows the island. We walked to the meeting point, a 10 minute walk from our hotel. We saw the whole island, then used our car the next day to revisit the places that stood out.

The trip was wonderful. Mac is a first-rate guide. Wonderful storyteller and so knowledgeable of the history and culture of his island. Stops were well-timed and not rushed. Excellent!

Enjoyed the tour. Would have liked more time on the ground, beaches, etc. There was more travel time than I expected. Bart told some interesting history and stories.

Phil was an amazing guide. He was knowledgeable and had an entertaining way of delivering information and stories. The tour gives you a chance to see the island beyond the obvious tourist areas. Very worthwhile.

I really enjoyed the tour. Have only heard of Martha’s Vineyard. Did not know a thing! Learned so much. Really enjoyed. Stops were great. van comfortable.

Rich was our tour guide and is extremely knowledgeable regarding Martha’s Vineyard! My hubby and I were both glad we decided to take the tour as opposed to exploring on our own - we never would have gotten all the history and fun facts that Rich provided! Thanks Rich!!

Not worth the $60 for the cost of the excursion. The driver zoomed through the different areas and would say “Look to your right and you will see…” a landmark, etc. We would look to the right and all we would see was a dense forrest of trees and/or shrubs. There were a couple of stops with beautiful views of the shores/water. Additionally, the van was not comfortable and getting on and off was not easy.

Covered so much territory and Bart was terrific. As a MV native, he was able to give us a great deal of history, including geological information. Absolutely wonderful 3 hours. Highly recommended!

Wonderful introduction to the history and natural formation of Martha's Vineyard. As someone raised on the island, our guide, Bart, was knowledgeable about every aspect of the areas we traveled. So much was packed into the 3 hours.
