3 of us friends did the Bwindi Impenetrable Forest Gorilla Trekking in Jan this year, it was absolutely amazing and once in a lifetime experience for me. The company is very easy to deal with and also very responsive, we had Gunn as our driver/guide. His driving skill is almost second to none, especially on those bumpy road; and he was always ready to give you a smile, we had so much fun together. Can't recommend the company and him high enough!!

Great short whirlwind trip to see the gorillas with my guide Shafik. An absolute bucket list experience. There are some very long drives on this trip, personally I didn't mind this as I really enjoyed seeing the country by road and seeing the different regions of Uganda (Shafik even stopped to buy me a giant pineapple at a roadside stand). The 4x4 was super comfortable, food was great and loved the accommodation. Thanks so much Home to Africa tours!

We just finished our 3 day gorilla trekking with our guide William. He really went above and beyond to teach us all about the national parks, the animals, the culture and most importantly he made us feel safe! We stopped for local food along the way (plus all of my bathroom breaks lol) and his driving was … great! Hahah not what we’re used to but he knows what he’s doing! It was so much fun getting to know him, and getting to know what Uganda is about. The tour was amazing. There is nothing like seeing the gorillas face to face in their natural habitat. Truly a remarkable experience. The accommodations were amazing and everyone we met along the way was so kind. I highly recommend this tour!

My friend and I just got back from a month-long trip around East Africa which culminated in a 3-day tour to the Bwindi Forest. It completely exceeded expectations. Hedmond - who was our main point of contact over email during the booking phase and throughout - was always very prompt and communicative! We arranged a pickup from Kigali, a driver change at the Rwanda/Uganda land border, and a dropoff at the Entebbe airport... and every leg of the journey was executed so professionally and without a hitch! First: our driver who picked us up in Kigali to take us to the border was wonderful. He was so kind and flexible and communicative and he shared with us a fascinating life story. Moreover, he (and Hedmond) were super helpful by making an hour-long detour to the Kigali Airport to pick up my previously confiscated drone [PSA: they're not allowed in Rwanda -- even if you're not planning to use them in Rwanda]. Their flexibility in helping us in that situation was so, so appreciated and so kind. Then, we were picked up at the Uganda land border by Brian who was our wonderful driver in Uganda. Brian was so funny, charismatic, and kind. And a great driver too - especially on those multiple, long drives across the country. The Gorilla Trekking was a very positive experience. Although the permits are incredibly expensive, my friend and I really enjoyed the experience and the two locations we stayed at -- the Broadbill Forest Camp, and the Lake Bunyonyi Eco Resort -- both completely exceeded our lodging expectations. Thank you for organizing a great tour! :) We are very appreciative!

Ask for Danny Mugabo. He is more than a guide. Knowledgable, enthusiastic, impeccable manners, and a genuine interest in you, your, comfort, and satisfaction. Too many guides are tired or jaded. Not this one. He will make a memorable visit even better.

We recently did the 3 day Gorilla Trekking tour from Entebbe. Our guide was Buffalo (Balaam) and we absolutely loved him ! He kept us entertained on the long drive from Entebbe to Bwindi and back again. His knowledge of animals and birds was amazing. The drive is a big one from Entebbe, but once you get to Bwindi it is so worth it. The Broadbill lodge is great - an off the grid hotel perched on the edge of the forest. On the second day you start early to do a ranger briefing and then in small groups head off to locate your assigned gorilla family. The hike is no joke, through dense jungle and steep, but once you get to the Gorillas and get to spend the 1 hour in their presence, you forget how hard it was, until you have to head back (lol). The last night of the tour we stayed at Lake Bunyonyi, and again it was beautiful. I can not fault anything on this 3 day tour and would highly recommend Home to Africa.

This 3-day gorilla tracking & trekking experience in Uganda’s Bwindi Impenetrable Forest is probably the greatest wildlife encounter I’ve ever had. It’s a short itinerary but everything was executed well, from pickup in Entebbe, to the lodging, the food, and of course, the gorilla trek. The booking process for this was smooth & all my inquiries were clearly answered promptly, including changing my drop-off location so that instead of going back to Entebbe, that I cross the border & be dropped off in Kigali, Rwanda instead. Once booked, all the information I needed for this trip was given to me upfront, which I really appreciated. The highlight, of course, was seeing wild mountain gorillas up close in their natural habitat, which was a strenuous trek, but one hell of an adventure! My guide, Benon, drove us 10hrs south from Entebbe, crossing the equator in Uganda, to Bwindi Impenetrable Forest National Park. I stayed at a remote camp inside Bwindi at 2350m ASL, where my tent was overlooking the forest. Benon was really good at prepping me the night before at dinner about what to expect for the next day’s gorilla tracking, especially what I needed to wear & bring, including plenty of water & food. There are different sectors within Bwindi where we were allowed to trek, some harder than others. Benon picked a sector for me, then handed me off to the rangers who guided each of their groups into the forest. Knowing how tough the trek is, the rangers gave everyone wooden trekking poles, which helped a lot. Bwindi’s terrain is such that we started our trek on high ground, descending steeply into the forest valley floor. My knees & thighs were absolutely aching as we hiked down the 60deg slopes nonstop for about an hour. Sometimes if you're lucky, you don't have to trek far to see them; they'd be 15 min away. But not for us. We had to work hard to see them. Once we saw the gorillas, we put our face masks on & spent an hour watching them, the max limit we were allowed. I saw 6 gorillas in this family, incl. the big man himself, along with the mom, the baby, and a couple of others climbing down the trees. After our time with the gorillas, we began the arduous climb up the steep slopes of the rainforest. It's a once in a lifetime experience, & I’m grateful for it. After Bwindi, we headed to Lake Bunyonyi to relax & where I spent the night… such a beautiful & peaceful place to unwind after a day of strenuous trekking. I was so glad this was part of my itinerary! This trip was so well worth it, & I highly recommend it to anyone visiting Uganda! Thank you Home to Africa for such a great itinerary and my guide, Benon, for taking care of me throughout my trip.

Suppose you are still on the fence about deciding whether or not to participate in the 3-Day Tour to Uganda. I will recommend you do. I had a great once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to be in the presence of Gorillas in their natural habitat. Lake Bunyonyi Eco Resort is stunning and a great place to relax after gorilla trekking. My tour guide, Nelson, was friendly, helpful, and very informative.

I did my trip on July 20th and my guide Zedius received me warmly and punctually at the airport. we drove straight to the national park. zedius drove quickly but very safely. I felt in good hands with him. the tour was pleasant and everything worked. After my trip, my tour guide even helped me find accommodation in Kampala and Entebbe and even showed me the city of Kampala a little on his own. I can only recommend the company and the guide zedius.

There are experiences in life that create an indelible mark on your memory, forever altering your perspective of the world. The three-day tour of Uganda, gorilla trekking through the enchanting Bwindi forest, is unequivocally one such journey that transcends your typical holiday. It's more than just an adventure, it's a profound, immersive learning experience that takes you straight into the heart of Africa’s breathtaking natural beauty. Right from the get-go, my host and driver, Balammu, an exemplary embodiment of knowledge, warmth, and hospitality, truly made the trip an extraordinary experience. His passionate narratives about Uganda's vibrant history, culture, flora, and fauna were as riveting as the wildlife we were journeying to see. As we ventured deeper into the lush Bwindi forest, Balammu guided us with the deftness and ease of someone with a deep-rooted connection to the land. Each turn brought with it the promise of a new discovery, and each day was filled with anticipation of what was to come. Seeing the mighty gorillas in their natural habitat was a truly humbling experience. They moved with a quiet dignity that was both awe-inspiring and a potent reminder of the delicate balance that binds all living things together. To witness these magnificent creatures up close was a privilege, a breathtaking spectacle that filled me with a sense of wonder and respect. However, the tour was not just about gorilla trekking. The plethora of knowledge that Balammu imparted about the diverse array of flora and fauna we encountered was equally fascinating. His detailed explanations gave us a new appreciation for the intricate beauty of the ecosystem, enriching our understanding of this mesmerizing wilderness. The nights spent under the vast Ugandan sky, peppered with stars, were nothing short of magical. Balammu's campfire stories about the local folklore and history further deepened our connection with this extraordinary place, transforming it from a tourist destination into a home away from home. I cannot speak highly enough of this trip. The exceptional organization, Balammu’s extensive knowledge, coupled with his infectious enthusiasm, the majestic wildlife encounters, the jaw-dropping landscapes, and the immersion in Uganda's rich and diverse culture, all combined to create a truly transformative journey. For anyone contemplating a unique and awe-inspiring adventure, this gorilla trekking tour through Uganda's Bwindi forest is a must. It's not just a tour, but an epic journey of discovery, learning, and profound experiences that will stay with you for a lifetime. In the great theater of nature, this journey deserves standing ovation.

Cannot recommend Home to Africa highly enough! As a solo female traveller I was made to feel so welcome and reassured throughout my trip. I goes without saying how incredible the gorilla trekking was, but my overall experience was made by my tour guide Brian. He was so knowledgable and easy to get along with, there wasn’t a question that I asked which he couldn’t answer; whether that be about the wildlife or Uganda in general. Definitely worth booking a trip with this company!

Thanks to Home To Africa, we had a fantastic time on our Gorilla Trek in Uganda. When planning this trip, I researched many companies and am very happy I decided on Home To Africa. The communication through What's App was always excellent, and Aryanyijuka went over and above trying to help with VISA issues and any other concerns. The cost, itinerary, and accommodation were transparent, with no surprises. Our driver, Derrick, in the field, was always helpful and kindly looked out for us at every stage. We stayed at Broadbill Lodge and couldn't have been happier with our 'budget choice.' The guides for our Gorilla Trek ensured everyone on our team made it, and we had the experience of a lifetime during our hour with the gorillas. We opted to spend two nights after the trek at Lake Bunyoni Eco Resort, which was definitely a highlight of our two-week trip! The views, the food, and the staff were superb! All the staff ensured that we had an unforgettable experience, and we feel like we made some lifelong friends. Osbert, Samuel, Mike, and everyone else at Lake Bunyoni were the best staff I have ever encountered, and I can't praise them enough. Be sure to do the island tour! Uganda was a beautiful experience with the most welcoming, friendly people. My only regret about this trip is that I didn't have Home To Africa organize our entire two-week trip to Africa. Don't hesitate and book with Home To Africa!

This was a truly unforgettable experience. Uganda is such a beautiful country with amazing hospitality, scenery, wildlife, food and more. My highly experienced guide, Derrick, is very personable, friendly and knowledgeable about everything Uganda that you need to know from animals and plants to food and culture and all of the adventures to be had whilst travelling in this stunning region. As a solo traveller he made this journey seamless and lots of fun for me, and I felt I was in very safe hands for the entire journey. Seeing the gorillas in the Bwindi forest was one of the best moments in my life to date, a big bucket list item everyone should experience. And this was in addition to an incredible safari, meeting the warm and friendly local people along the way and seeing the beauty of Lake Bunyonyi. I would highly recommend this experience - if in doubt, I would recommend to book anyway, you definitely won’t regret it!!

Booking with Home to Africa for a 3-Day Gorilla trek was a great choice! I do not regret it at all, it was amazing. We were picked up by our guide, William, at a guest house in Entebbe. The drive to Bwindi Impenetrable Forest took around 10 hours in total. William was so incredibly accommodating to us on this drive. He stopped to pick up some local street food along the way like roasted bananas (so good!), and fresh pineapple! He told us all about the different parks in Uganda and about local food and street culture. The road to Bwindi is nicely paved, so most of the trip is relaxing. The road into the forest is unpaved and a bit treacherous. William navigated the road like a champion! Broadbill Camp was an AMAZING place to stay the night before the trek. The forest is cold cold cold, and the camp is deep in the jungle, but the accommodation was extremely comfortable. The food was way better than expected, practically a gourmet meal. It was incredible. This camp was the most interesting and adventurous place we've ever stayed. We loved it. We had a small bag of snacks that a forest mouse tried to enter in the middle of the night, but that was our fault for leaving it out. The mouse was no issue at all, it's his home, not ours. If you put your food in a more sturdy luggage bag, you'll have no issues at all. Breakfast was also amazing, and the staff were incredible. The trek itself was very organized. The park rangers were excellent. It is important to bring some cash to tip the rangers. Bring at least $60000 in $20000 bills ($20000 = $5 USD.) You'll want to tip the cultural dancers before the trip - local women who put on an amazing display, the gorilla trackers who stay in the forest all day long keeping an eye on the gorillas, and the official hiking guide. I saw people giving them more money than we did, but $20000 ($5 USD) is adequate for each. I was cautious of the tipping, but after experiencing the whole thing, I truly wanted to tip them more. They work so hard. Our trek went well, we walked about an hour or so into the jungle to find our group of gorillas. And the hour we spent with them was so cool, we had the dominant male Silverback in our presence for the entire hour. It was sooooo worth it!!! ***The fire ants in the jungle are no joke, they are very big! But if you tuck your pants into your long socks you'll have no issue. You should also bring gloves, just in case there's a lot of mud. Each of us fell at least once because the trail was muddy and slippery, but the rangers provide you with walking sticks that really help!! And please, do not forget bug spray or bug lotion. There are a lot of mosquitos in the jungle, especially around the gorillas.**** After our trek we were taken to Lake Bunyoni to the Eco Lodge, which was an amazing amazing amazing stay. The food was great, and the accommodation was extremely comfortable. Treat yourself to an African Chai tea in the lodge for $8000 ($2 USD). There are crested cranes and many small birds on the island which were very fun to see. We couldn't have enjoyed it any more! The drive back to Entebbe was difficult and tiring, but we still had fun. William was the best driver and we highly recommend him for your trip! He was so accommodating and helped us find an ATM when we ran of cash. He also provided us with plenty of water which was so important! He was the best of the best! Make sure to tip your driver well! They deserve it. In Entebbe, I'd suggest staying at Anna's Bed & Breakfast. She can provide an amazing stay and a trip to the airport. We had the best dinner at her B&B, for only $10 USD each (get the fish), and the breakfast the next day was really delicious. All in all, choose Home to Africa. We loved it!

I have traveled all over the world, and visiting the gorillas ranks as one of the most memorable experiences of my life. Our driver/guide Karim was extremely knowledgeable. My mistake was in not heeding his advice to use wooden walking sticks rather than my titanium ones. Those snapped in the first 10 minutes in the jungle. Fortunately, I did hire a porter at Karim's suggestion, and he helped me hike in the steep, dense jungle. We also went whitewater rafting on the White Nile -- quite exhilarating. I only wish we made plans to spend more time at serene Lake Bunyonyi.

My father, fiance, and I went on the Gorilla Trekking safari with Home to African and had an amazing time! Home to Africa also organized for my dad and I to raft on the White Nile River, which was a great time, too. Karim, our driver/guide throughout Uganda was so incredibly kind and knowledgeable, we wish we would have had more time with him. The gorilla trekking experience was downright incredible and went so smoothly. Just be prepared for some rigorous hiking through the Impenetrable Forrest. We cannot recommend Karim and Home to Africa enough!
