Axel was a great guide, gave lots of interesting information & kept the tour moving along smoothly! The many stops over the three days were excellent, with a lot to see and do. Amazing sites! The ice caving & glacier hikes were exciting, but doable for people in good shape. Recommended for people who like the outdoors!

Based on recommendations from other travelers, I booked the 3-day South Coast Tour with Troll through their website. I scheduled a pickup from my hotel and we took off on our 3 day adventure. There were around 12 people in my group which gave us enough space in the bus to be comfortable. We drove away from Reykjavik and made stops at different landmarks. Our guide, Gil, was extremely kind and very knowledgeable about the places we visited. He went out of his way several times to make sure everyone was enjoying the experience. The whole group felt that Gil was kind, patient and funny. He answered any questions we had about where we were. We stayed at two different hotels. They both had beautiful views. The breakfast is included and has many different options to start your day. The second and third days were very exciting. We went on a glacier hike, visited the diamond beach and went inside an ice cave. Being a solo traveler, I was worried that I would feel alone since there was a large group of friends. There were two other solo travelers and we ended up becoming friends. It was really nice to meet someone new and learn about them. Gil also made sure that I felt welcome everywhere. On the third day, we finished with a two-hour drive back to our hotels in Reykjavik. I highly recommend using Troll for any of their tours. The 3-day South Coast Tour is a great option if you're coming to Reykjavik for a week. You will get to see many of the best sights in that area with a guide. I would definitely use Troll again if I can make it back to Iceland.

The views were incredible, I like a lot the first hotel. Thor our guide was very thoughtful and respectful and try to get us the best time always. I like the tour I think I just missing the volcano crater view, and a bit more historic explanation apart from that everything was absolutely incredible.

I was so happy with Troll's 3-day south coast tour. Driving in Iceland can be challenging when you're faced with some intense winter conditions, so as a solo traveler I opted for a tour to take away some of the stress. I was a bit worried that taking a tour might make the trip feel rushed but I can say that the worries were for nothing. At each stop we were given a time to be back at the bus and it always felt like plenty of time. Our guide, Arni, was great, before every stop he gave us an overview on what it was and the history behind it, and as we were driving he pointed out a lot of great stuff we might have not have noticed. He was very clear in communicating the schedule we were on and coordinating meals and restroom stops. He did check the aurora forecast each day, but unfortunately the clouds just seemed to follow us so we didn't get to see them. (The lights weren't at the top of my list of things to see, but even if they were the remainder of Iceland more than makes up for not seeing them!) The main highlights for me were visiting Skogafoss with very few people around (we got lucky with our timing!), the glacier hike and the ice cave. The glacier hike was a bit more intensive than I realized, as we did have to hike up some narrow paths with somewhat steep drop offs, but I never felt unsafe. With the amount of sights you get to see and the ability to just stare out the window at the scenery the whole drive, this tour is more than worth it! I wouldn't hesitate to book another Troll tour!

Fabulous trip. Our tour guide Thor was very experienced. He is always one step ahead of the constantly changing weather in Iceland. We are able to enjoy the spots at the most suitable time and weather. He also brought us to good restaurants, many extra spots and shared a lot about Iceland. Definitely a good kick-off of our Iceland trip. And we are so lucky to be able to do the glacier hiking under sunshine as well. Our glacier hiking guide was wonderful and knowledgeable too (Sorry that I forgot his name but I remember he is from Belgium).

Thor (yes like Thor, the God of Thunder!) was an amazing guide! He took us around to all the locations advertised and even took us to see extra scenic places that we would not normally stop. He was so knowledgeable about Iceland and made the trip absolutely amazing. He answered every question and went into great lengths to ensure that we were all entertained. We went to multiple waterfalls, ice caves, and ended with the glacier walk. At one point, Thor took us to a path directly underneath the waterfall and I got to drink the water from there directly! The accommodations were great and the staff were extremely kind and hospitable. Being vegetarian, I was a bit worried about food options but all the locations we went for food had vegetarian options, including the hotels and restaurants. I would recommend you definitely wear hiking boots, thermal shirt and pants, a beanie, outer coat, gloves, and a ski mask. I personally bought merino wool stuff off Amazon and a Patagonia outer shell and it worked perfectly. Please don’t forget to bring a power bank, reusable water bottle, and a plug adapter for Iceland. The only thing we were unable to see was the Northern Lights but that was due to the cloud covers and not something Troll Expeditions could control. I would give this a 10/10 experience; if you are on a tight schedule and want to see as much as possible into three days, this is the trip for you. Thank you so much to the Troll Expedition Team and I look forward to coming back to Iceland in the future.

We are a group of tourists who once held high expectations for your company, only to see them dissolve into disappointment after a recent three-day tour in Iceland. Our experience, booked through your Chinese tour group, was far from pleasant and left us deeply dissatisfied. Indeed, it was the worst travel experience we have ever had, primarily due to our Chinese guide, Xiuying Cui. 1.The professional competency of the guide was questionable. Her limited explanations lacked both vibrancy and coherence, often filled with hesitations and disorganized thoughts, making them hard to follow. Faced with Iceland's famous natural beauty, she was at a loss for words, leaving us to "look for ourselves." Occasionally, it was our driver, not the guide, who pointed out scenic views. It's worth mentioning our driver, Sibii, was exceptional - his driving skills, friendliness, and enthusiasm were the sole highlights of our journey, starkly contrasting with the guide's performance. This lack of professionalism made us question the standards by which your company selects its guides. 2.The guide's attitude was appalling. Among our group of 18, 16 were students and two were slightly older women. Throughout the trip, the guide treated us differently, showing extreme courtesy to the women but blatant discrimination and disrespect towards the rest of us, as if she stood on a moral high ground, scolding us from dawn till dusk. Her criticisms, mainly about punctuality, were broad, despite the fact that any delays were minor. However, we believe a more professional and equitable approach could have been taken instead of outright chastisement. Even more troubling was her tendency to pre-emptively rebuke us without cause. Her scheduling was irrational; for instance, allocating 40 minutes for a waterfall visit but only 30 for the glacier lagoon and lunch, despite long queues at the dining spot, leaving us rushed and unable to fully appreciate the sights or eat properly. Whenever we hurried to the next location as a result, she would shift the blame onto us, as if all the mishaps were our fault. She even threatened that if she couldn't finish her work by 5 PM, she would charge each of us an overtime fee of fifty euros per hour. This transformed what should have been a pleasant journey into a dark experience filled with constant reprimand and psychological stress. We did not expect much from her as a service provider, but basic respect and fairness should have been a given. Instead, we faced severe mistreatment, costing us not just emotionally but financially, with 18 group members, a total of 2,698,200 Icelandic krona spent in vain for endless scolding. One must ask, is such treatment fair or justifiable? 3.The guide lied and slacked off during work. First, the guide instructed us, a group of 18, to select a team leader among ourselves to create and manage a group chat, citing her inability to manage such a large group on her own. During the trip, she designated fellow travelers to draft and post messages on her behalf rather than typing them herself. I must question, having paid for the trip, are we supposed to undertake the guide's duties without compensation? This raises a further question for your company: if a guide lacks the capability to manage their group, how were they chosen to lead our tour in the first place? Secondly, during our visits to various sites, the guide often opted out of accompanying us, choosing instead to offer brief explanations from the vehicle before letting us explore alone. As previously mentioned, these explanations were inadequate. Furthermore, particularly before the ice cave adventure, she reneged on her promise to join us, citing an overabundance of participants and alleged instructions from the travel agency to abstain, a claim we could not verify. Coincidentally, before a glacier hike the following day, she claimed a sudden cramp prevented her from accompanying us, despite appearing physically fine. During these hikes, my friend struggled with slippery gear and fell behind. The lead, moving too quickly, failed to ensure the group's cohesion until alerted by a vigilant fellow tourist, narrowly averting a serious accident that could have resulted in my friend falling into a crevasse, causing significant emotional trauma. In summary, this trip was a profoundly negative experience. We had hoped to gain a deeper understanding of Iceland, but left with heavy hearts and grievances. We strongly urge your company to investigate this matter and provide us with a fair explanation and appropriate compensation. Please take our complaint seriously to prevent similar misfortunes for future tourists.

Very amazing driver SIMON THE SPICY VIKING! Nice time keeper and give us plenty of time for each place. Free WiFi and always keeping a good smell on the car. Love the way he tells a story no matter whether it's a joke or not hahahaha, the storytelling is gradual and easy to follow, and normally end with some beatbox. The hotel is outstanding as well. Especially the second day we can see the northern light at home! Speak of the northern light, Simon has a really good camera and has taken lots of nice northern light pictures for us. All the sightseeings are good even better than thought! Suitable for taking photos. Just a little misfortune, the first day is kinda snowy so it suddenly gets pretty cold and windy. But we went through it and got many good photos and memories either way.

Thanks to our dearest tour guide and driver--Rocky (name too long to remember, this is what he asked us to call him), we, which means me and my friends had a wonderful trip in Iceland. The trip is long but it's never boring, it's tired but every 'suprise' (quote from Rocky) make us excited and energetic. Anyways, the group tour is totally worth it.
