We landed in Oahu and headed straight to our surfing lesson. We are a family of 5 with 3 athletic teenagers ages 18, 16 and 14. After a thorough lesson in the bay we paddled out to the catch some waves. Shane and Captain Neil are phenomenal instructors. We all felt safe and confident. We all got up on our first go. This is a great activity for an active family and we highly recommend. Our teenagers loved it and the adults alike.

Surfing was the highlight of our trip to Hawaii. We had private lessons with Shane and Neil, we had one instructor for each of us which was incredible. We started the lesson on the calm water learning how to stand, balance and focus. Once we got into the ocean they towed us out to ensure we had maximum energy to hit as many waves as we could. We'd swim out on our boards and be guided on which wave was best to get. The ocean was quiet at the end of the day and so we were able to hit an incredible amount without having to worry. Note we were quickly about to stand and really felt like natural surfers. We surfed as the sun was coming down into a double rainbow off the island of O'ahu and there is nothing more special than that. If you're in Hawaii and you aren't sure, just do it.

Thanks to Shane, I successfully surfed for the first time ever. I wouldn’t have even dreamed of it, because I thought I couldn’t do it. He persuaded me to try and had me riding waves within 45 minutes. I want to mention I do NOT skate or snowboard, so he taught me when I had zero prior experience! I couldn’t believe it, and it was the time of my life, truly unforgettable. I highly recommend Shane for all your Oahu adventures.

Shane and Neil were great instructors! They helped us work our way from small waves to larger waves. They were very helpful throughout the lesson by giving us tips and feedback to help our surfing. We had an amazing time! Would definitely recommend!

My husband and I had a wonderful time with Captain Shane during our 2 hour surf lesson. It was my first time surfing and I was able to standup on the board my very first wave. After going on an incredible full day Circle Island tour with Shane, we enjoyed our day so much that we decided to book surf lessons with Shane and Captain Neil for the whole family. Shane was incredibly knoweldgeable and attentive to everyone’s individual needs and varying ability levels. Our daughter (who has never surfed before), learned the basics with Shane’s guidance and she was riding waves in no time. She can’t wait to surf again! Shane and Neil are amazing instructors! If you feel like your not a strong swimmer no worries because Shane is right next to you the whole time and will help in anyway you need it, he will even pull you on your board if you can’t paddle yourself. My whole family took lessons including my youngest who is eight. My son and I had the lessons first and after taking them I felt 100% confident that my eight year old would be safe for she is not a strong swimmer. My 10-year old son and I went for surf lessons with Shane and Captain Neil. They were great with teaching and super positive. They really wanted to make sure we both had a great time, which we did. We started off in lagoon to get the basics and then paddled out to the waves. A perfect location to get you up and going. Shane and Captain Neil were with us all of the way, pointing our boards in the right way, picking out the right waves, teaching us how to get up on our boards, and riding them in. Shane will even tow you out when your arms get tired. We had such a great time, we booked a second day. Pro tip - the snorkel break to see the fish is worth it. Highly recommended!

Our 8 yr and 11 yr old had private lessons. After mastering standing, They went out into open ocean. Our kids had a blast! Both want to be professional surfers, til I took them to the Northshore. They looked at the big waves.."We need more lessons!" We have gotten home and have contacted Shane and planning more lessons in September 2023 for our next Hawaiian vacation. The instructors were amazing!!

Shane and Neal are the ABSOLUTE BEST in Waikiki, hands down. I have surfed with other instructors in Waikiki when I lived there and visited but will return to Shane and Neal for as along as they are around. I surfed for a solid 2 hours before I yelled uncle (laughter). The spot they have is perfect to both learn and hone your skills. Shane is a master at those minute corrections that makes you better in minutes, that is his real gift. Both Shane and Neal are professional and personable, it was a joy to be in the water with them. I surfed on 10/29 which is Neal’s birthday, my birthday was 10/30. Karma! You will not be disappointed!

Awesome time learning to surf on a stand-up paddle board with Shane on Waikiki (Oct 2022). The first thing i tell friends about my trip was this 2 hr lesson. I'm not really sure if this makes sense but not only is Shane an excellent surfing instructor he teaches "Aloha" , great vibe. Bottom line: if you are doing any water activities while on Oahu give these guys a call. They will be the first call i make next time I head there.

They made my lifelong dream come true! Shane and Neil were absolutely amazing. They taught us beginners how to surf and I actually caught waves with my awesome coach Shane. They treated me and my entire family with so much respect and gave us all a great time. They eve got my shy 5 year old daughter to get on a board, and she loved it too. What really made the experience special were our hosts, Shane and Neil. They gave us front door to beach pick up service, got cozy chairs for the grandma and baby to sit in the shade, and took the utmost care of us while in the water. I’ve never felt so safe. Shane and captain Neil were amazing teachers! My husband and I were able to tag onto surfing lessons last minute and they were so accommodating. They made sure we caught so many waves and that we were comfortable. Amazing experience and will tell/recommend family and friends to them anytime they come to Oahu!

Shane and Neil are amazing instructors! As my first time surfing, they made me feel safe and comfortable the whole experience. I have asthma and they let me take my time and breaks whenever I needed. Amazing experience. I have tried surfing 3 times but found no success. I almost gave up until I learned from Shane and Neil. They are the most patient surfing teachers you can ever find! Strongly recommend.
