This was our 2nd destination with Travel China Guides. We were pleasantly greeted at the train station by our guide, Celine, and the driver (Mrs Liu) who helped us take our bags to the car. They drove us to the holiday inn big wild goose pagoda which was a great hotel. The next morning we were taken to the terra-cotta warriors, which was beyond our expectations. Of note, Celine took the time on the drive over to do an excellent job of explaining the history behind that emperor and his Terracotta Army. She then took us to a fabulous restaurant on site for some yummy local noodles. After that we visited the Small Wild Goose Pagoda and were given a very informative tour. We finished the day at the Muslim market and mosque which we throughly enjoyed. The following day, they took us to the Xi’an city wall where we biked on the top (very fun). Lastly, we went to the Han Yangling Mausoleum which dovetailed well with the Terracotta Army. Celine and Mrs Liu were exceptional. Celine’s English, knowledge of history, and passion for tour guiding made our visit so special. We as a team of five spent two days with our travel guider Lily, she was so nice to organize the whole trip per our request, and very professional to introduce the whole journey and helped us know the city and Chinese history in a much better way. She's also very friend and patient, her recommendation of food are very good in terms of quality, price, service, environment etc. It is not an easy work to provide such a high quality service with the two days raining. Thanks a lot for her help to make this journey a wonderful one.

My family recently moved to Beijing and we wanted to travel within China over a short weekend. Cindy at Travel China Guide took care of everything from the train bookings to the hotel and the tickets to the Terra Cotta Warriors and other attractions. Roger was a helpful guide and was good with our two young children. Xi'an was a great city to visit, we really enjoyed the Terra Cotta Warriors and the Muslim Quarter "Snack Street". The Wild Goose Pagoda was impressive but not much to do there. However, the refurbished "Chinatown" area across the street is spectacularly lighted at night with lots of great food stalls and people-watching to be had. Thanks to Cindy, Roger, and the rest of Travel China Guide staff who helped for a good weekend!

Our visit to Xi’an was a thoroughly enjoyable experience. Much of this is due to our guide, Jackie. He was the epitome of a professional guide, knowledgeable, organized, informative and very personable. In one and a half days we visited the Terracotta Army Museum, the City Wall and the Muslim Quarter, the Shaanxi History Museum, the Small Wild Goose Pagoda and had a wonderful lunch with a local family (who went out of her way to accommodate my wife’s food allergies). Thank you Jackie.

We recently visited Xi’an and had a fantastic guide named Mervyn through China Highlights. She was very personable and knowledgeable about the attractions we visited. She was flexible and patient (we take a lot of pictures) and allowed us to spend as much time as we wanted at various places. She was also extremely helpful in helping us find some personal we thought we lost. I highly recommend her.

We had an excellent tour with them. Coming from India we were not sure about the places to stay, visit and eat! But the Guide,Lily was good and made sure that we got Vegetarian food at all the places we visited. Her English too was excellent and it was easy to converse with her and her knowledge of the historic places was good too. We would recommend them highly for have free travel.

The Terra Cotta Warriors were breathtaking and the Provincial Museum amazing. A special treat was the Tai Chi lesson arranged by my guide Lola. She organized a 1-on-1 lesson with a Tai Chi Master in Wild Goose Pagoda Park. Lola was awesome!

we are a group of six consist of elderly 82 & 67, kids, 8 & 6 and adult,..we came to xi'an in late evening because of airplane delayed from beijing,.fortunately celine help us to book a resto near hotel so we can eat dinner although the resto almost closed. celine is a workmanlike,friendly,& helpful.she has patient with us because we are slow group with wheelchair elderly, but she can manage time so we can see all the destination and enjoy it. tks celine and travel china which made our holiday unforgettable and wonderfull.

We came to Xi’an for a weekend trip with our 11 month-old baby son. Thanks to Celine our trip was very interesting and really enjoyable. Celine was very courteous, always on time and extremely knowledgable about the city and its attractions. Most importantly, she showed great care and kindness towards our baby son and she knew very well how to interact with and entertain him. This made our trip so much easier and more comfortable. She happily accommodated us when we needed to make alterations to our itinerary and was very flexible to suit our needs. Celine is not only a great storyteller but she also has a thorough knowledge of the history of the city and the heritage sites we visited. She was always happy to answer all our questions. As we are currently living in Beijing, we particularly enjoyed talking with her about the day-to-day living in contemporary China. In addition, Celine gave us useful hints of where to buy things we needed, especially those for the baby. Her restaurant recommendations were very accurate and we ended up eating all our meals in the places she suggested. She always had our interest and safety in mind, and when we visited the muslim street she ensured that we savoured only the safe food (which was delicious nonetheless). We would definitely recommend seeing Xi’an and its top sights with Celine. Thanks to her, this was our best city trip in China so far.

China is a safe friendly place to visit. Our guide Jacki, was on time to meet us, informative and helpful. July is hot, humid and school holiday time. We'd suggest going in the autmn or spring, otherwise we had a great time in Xi'an.

Jacky is Top-Shelf. From the time we arrived in Xi‘an Jacky took great care of us. He is smart, fun, and diligent. When we saw the Terracotta Warriors he gave us a great experience and skillfully navigated the crowd. When we left he made sure we were om the train on time. You must see Xi‘an with Jacky.

In the short trip we had, Carol, our tour guide was kind and pleasant.. Her breadth of knowledge was unbelievable, she was a walking encyclopedia. I would have no hesitancy in recommending her. We went to the Terra Cotta Museum, the Muslim Area, the Wild Goose Pagoda and a Museum

We went to Xi'an as part of a 9 day tour with travel china guide. Our guide Carol made the trip an amazing experience! She was so knowledgeable about the city and the fascinating history of the pagoda and the terra-cotta warriors. It was so fun to go to a local home and experience authentic Chinese cuisine, the food was delicious!

Travel China Guide Tours helped organize this private tour for us in Xi'an. I will break this review into two parts. The first part is the travel company. The second part will be about our guide and itinerary. The travel company, Travel China Guide Tours, is phenomenally professional. They have organized and delivered every single thing they promised. I really appreciated the fact that our travel consultant, Linda, was available to us through the We Chat app at any time needed. She would act as a translator and advisor at a moments notice during normal hours. She even came to visit us at one of our tour stops in Xi'an just to see how we were doing. We have also used this company to help plan our Beijing and Zhangjiajie tour. About our tour guide: Jackie was amazing. His English was phenomenal. In fact, he told us that he teaches English at a local college. He is incredibly knowledgeable, and loves to share his knowledge of the Chinese culture and history. Every moment with him was interesting and fun. Additionally, he was incredibly helpful with every aspect of our trip in Xi'an. When we tried to buy some pricey souvenirs, he acted as our translator. He helped us get our purchases packaged for shipping and helped us organize all the necessary paperwork. He met all of our needs, and exceeded the rest. I would highly recommend Jackie to anyone. The itinerary in Xi'an was excellent. I can honestly say that two days in Xi'an is perfect amount of time. In the beginning, we had reservations about visiting "a local family". However, it turned out to be one of the more pleasant experiences as I learned to cook Chinese food during this visit. Overall, I highly recommend this company and this itinerary to anyone who wants to Xi'an.

I just came back from doing the 12 day private tour from Travel China Guide. We started in Beijing, then continued to Xian, Chengdu, Guilin, Yangshuo & finally Shanghai. I will limit myself to the Xian portion of the tour for this review, and will review the other cities separately. I did not know what to expect since I'd never been to China before. I was hesitant about booking a tour online. We booked the private, no shopping tour. I have to tell you that the trip was one of the best of my life. Starting with Angela, who was the person that I communicated with via email to coordinate all of the details of the trip. She was professional, courteous & helpful. She answered all of the questions precisely & quickly. We took a bullet train from Beijing to Xi'an, which was awesome! It's smooth & rides like an airplane. When we arrived in Xi'an, we were greeted by Celine, our tour guide at the train station. She was excellent. She took us to our private car, where they had bottled water waiting for us. Then, they drove us to our hotel, and checked in for us. We had 2 nights in Xi'an. On Day 5, we went to the Terracotta Warriors museum, the Big Wild Goose Pagoda & The Provincial History Museum. Seeing these sites is great regardless, but seeing them with a knowledgeable guide is even better. Celine took the time to explain the layout of the terra cotta army, which lent insight into the history of the first emperor that we would not have been aware of without her. She also explained the the Buddhist history of the Big Wild Goose Pagoda, and why it was named as it was. Her knowledge of the area was impressive and she made it very interesting for us. on Day 6, we went to the City Wall, which was spectacular. Then, Celine took us to a local lady's home, to eat a delicious home-cooked lunch. We enjoyed it very much. Then, she transferred us to the train station for a bullet train to Chengdu. The tours were well arranged, and very enjoyable. The hotel was great. Celine was an excellent tour guide. Friendly, knowledgeable, helpful. We really enjoyed our time in Xi-an and look forward to going back!

I contacted Travel China to arrange a 5-day tour for my mom and her friend (3 days in Beijing, 2 days in Xian) and I cannot recommend this company highly enough. All of their communication was excellent (Emily was a wonderful consultant) and the guides and drivers on the ground were fabulous. My mom had a wonderful time and couldn't stop raving about how great everyone and everything was. If you are arranging a tour in China, I would definitely use this company. They can tailor an itinerary to your objectives and they are very responsive and well-priced.

We spent two full days in Xian and were hosted and guided by the lovely Celine. Our accommodation at the Sheraton Xian was excellent in all aspects. Celine gave us a great tour of the Warriors, insight into the Museum and history of three dynasties. We particularly enjoyed visiting the old city wall of Xian. Great food and company within a small group. An Extra, which most of the group decided to do, was the Dumpling Dinner and Musical and Dance Performance. We had a very enjoyable time in Xian thanks to Celine and Travel China Guide. We have no hesitation in recommending both. Ken and Uli Holmes.

I was in Xian for two days and Carol was my private guide. Carol was not only highly informed, she also had a very caring and friendly personality. She made sure that I enjoy my satay in Xian, that I get a good feeling for Chinese culture, music, art and amazing food. Carol went out of her way to make sure that I get the best service at the hotel, on tour sites, at restaurants and while shopping at local vendors. Carol shared a lot of very interesting information about Chinese history, culture and day to day life of Chinese people. If I ever have a chance to come back to China, I would love Carol to be my tour guide again. I had the best time.
