An amazing tour that takes you along the edges and into the Thai Jungle in Chiang Rai. Our route was steep, narrow and at times seemed some of the less travelled paths in the jungle areas. Walking through a number of villages and stopping for a bamboo cooked lunch was delightful. The waterfall was a refreshing break from the walking. Pack mosquito repellent and a change of clothes after the waterfall..

This trekking tour was well worth it! Our guide Mo was super knowledgeable, kind, and funny! The trek had a good balance of walking to breaks. The food was awesome too! Definitely recommend. From two Canadians, we thoroughly enjoyed!!

Super happy with the experience!! Would definitely recommend it. We were picked up at our hotel and were driven straight to the beginning of the trekking. We saw beautiful landscapes and learned about the zillion uses of bamboo, incl. construction, cooking and manufacturing of items such as cups, spoons, etc. We made then a pause for lunch, cooked in the middle of the jungle, of course using bamboo. It was rice with omelette and meat. And a salad. Super delicious. Then we proceeded to continue visiting the jungle and overall four villages. We ended up the journey bathing at thermal waters. Super glad and would definitely do it again.

Fun and challenging hike through the jungle! We are both active runners and hikers, and still were challenged by one very steep uphill climb. The guide was friendly and fun. He was also armed with a machete to cut down brush that was in our way. We hiked to many small villages, which was definitely the highlight for me. The lunch was also great and surprisingly tasty for being cooked in bamboo trunks. Wear good hiking shoes, long pants, and bug spray!

Ru was an amazing guide! We highly recommend this tour. The bamboo cooking was great, one of the best meals we've had in Thailand. The trek was beautiful. Ru made us a really special bamboo souvenir that we loved. If you have the chance to do it, go for it!

Our guide Wat was really great and the hike was good. We saw a few hill villages and also he explained about some of the challenges the people face. The bamboo cooking was interesting and the food was good. We also saw a pretty waterfall. The hike was around 12 km. A great experience!

Great hike, Sammy is an excellent guide who gave lots of information about the plants along the way. The hike was challenging and not suitable for everyone especially those with low mobility or if your level of fitness is not great. The views were worth the upward climb. Lunch was also a treat with plenty of food to go around. Delicious and so interesting to see how it's done! One suggestion I have is to start the day a little earlier (perhaps pick ups at 7:30am and starting the walk no later than 8am) to make the most of the cooler temperatures. By the time we got to the exposed track it was 1pm so right in the heat of the day. Overall i had a great day and would recommend this experience if you want to get out of the city and see a bit more of the beautiful countryside.

This tour is not for the faint-hearted or unfit! You are walking though the jungle/mountains for at least 10km, through dense vegetation, muddy areas and unstable footing with steep drops. I consider myself fairly fit and it was a challenge, especially in the heat & I did slip over a few times. Our tour guide Aryu made this an amazing experience, being from the hill tribes himself and also speaking English very well. He was funny and gave us so much interesting information. At the start of the trek he made all of us crowns/headwear from leaves, and then also bamboo cups and chopsticks as keepsakes and to also use for lunch. These little touches made the experience even better. Lunch itself was amazing, getting to watch omelettes, soup and rice be cooked in bamboo over a fire. It tasted delicious and was one of the best meals we have had in Thailand (or maybe we were just super hungry after the trek, ha ha!). Swimming in the waterfall was fun, but it is very shallow so you can’t ‘swim’ as such. Was nice to cool down after a lot of walking. We got to walk through some villages without any ‘shopping’ being imposed on us which was a nice change. To end the day, we got to spend some time at the hot springs in a couple of small baths (2-3 people in each one). There is a larger pool but it was closed for cleaning. Still enjoyed it thoroughly as a way to soak our sore muscles from the trek! The starting point was only 30-45mins from Chiang Rai so not a lot of travel either side of the day. The only criticism was that we underestimated how much water we would need to take for the trek and didn’t have enough. Water needs to be supplied during lunch as a top-up, or at least let travellers know to take a min of 2L each. It’s a very hot and sweaty day and easy to get dehydrated. The overheads for this tour would be low apart from insurance and fuel, so our concern is that the guide gets paid very little out of what we get charged, when they are essentially ‘the tour’ and make the day! Thank you Aryu for an experience we will never forget :)
