I waited a few days for the impact of this tour to settle before writing my review. All I can say is bravo to our tour guide, Señor Juan Carlos 👏👏👏. Juan Carlos is educated on flora, fauna, and the history of the Arenal area. His passion and communication elevates the experience of this tour. I found myself sharing what I had learned from him days later with total strangers in a different part of the country. My biggest takeaway? I grew an appreciation of and respect for Costa Rica and its environment through him. Thank you for sharing that with me, Juan Carlos. On cost - yes, you could likely get by much cheaper if you were to visit each of these locations a la carte and explore on your own. Or perhaps even a different touring company. But the value of the experience is within the guide and I happily recommend this tour with Juan Carlos, Ronaldo (our driver), and GreenVacations. The group can also enhance the tour. I was a solo traveler in a group with two warm and welcoming families and one other solo traveler. The total experience was just wonderful over the 8 hours or so. A day well spent! The itinerary was logically scheduled with the Volcano hike first, followed by the Waterfall and concluding with the Hanging Bridges. It rained profusely one hour into our visit at the Hanging Bridges, but it made for the “rainforest” experience. Thank you for providing this experience opportunity!

Absolutely fantastic day! Our tour guide was incredibly knowledgeable, entertaining, and was always making sure we were having a great time. I strongly recommend this tour as you get to see incredible animals, swim at the Fortuna waterfall, eat a classic dish, and learn a ton about the history of the Arenal volcano. This is a must do. Shoutout Wilber!!

This tour was excellent. Angelica was a great tour guide. It’s a long and wonderful day seeing three of the best sites of La Fortuna. We were discussing afterwards what was our favorite of the three stops, and we couldn’t decide. All three stops were so different; all three stops were fabulous! Angelica knew a lot and had a lot of energy. The authentic lunch was just OK. I would recommend the La Fortuna area, and this tour to anyone. Hopefully you’ll be lucky enough to spend the day with Angelica.

Amazing, fun filled action packed day. Do the thermal pools the next day, your legs will thank you :)

Beautiful scenery, clear water but slippery rocks. Wear water shoes. Lots of steps but worth the exercise.

If you’re looking to see the wonders of La Fortuna and are limited in terms of days here, I would definitely recommend this tour. The tour consisted of a packed (and exhausting) day, starting at the 1968 Trail up part of the Arenal Volcano, learning some history of the volcano and seeing lots of flora and fauna along the way to stunning views from the top of the trail. After the hike, we changed into bathing suits and drove to La Fortuna Waterfall where we hiked down the 500 steps to the gorgeous waterfall, where we enjoyed a refreshing swim at the waterfall’s base for nearly an hour before making the much more tiring trip back UP the 500 steps. We were tired and our calves were sore by the time we reached the top, but the view and the dip were totally worth it. For us (2 parents and our two 20-something kids), this was the highlight of the day. From there, we changed back into hiking clothes, and headed to a soda and a traditional Costan Rican lunch. The day ended with a tour of Místico Hanging Bridges park. The park was beautiful; it was incredible to see the rain forest from above (and maybe also a little nerve-wracking for those afraid of heights); and we saw even more wildlife. Our guide, Will (Wilbur), was very helpful and funny, and clearly especially loved the snakes encountered in the Hanging Bridges park that day. His enthusiasm was palpable. This isn’t an “adrenaline rush” kind of experience, rather more informative and a chance to see an array of Costa Rica’s beauty in one day. If you’re not in La Fortuna long but want to see as much as possible, this is a great way to go.

Diego was our tour guide and he did an excellent job! We did so much in one day and since we were in La Fortuna for only 2 days this was a perfect way to see a lot of what the area has to offer. The volcano hike was fun and we saw lots of interesting birds. I will say it is a more intensive hike if you go at a faster pace, but for my group it was perfect as it felt like a workout but was enjoyable getting to see the scenery. We stopped at a coffee shop and I had the guaco sour with passionfuit which was excellent, especially since it had the view of the volcano. Next we went to the La Foutna waterfall and had time to swim and take pictures -- again there were many stairs to go up and down but if you do your research on the areas ahead of time this should not be a surprise, so just come prepared to do some physical activity. Then we had an authentic costa rican lunch at a local spot which was yummy! And the day ended with the Mistico hanging bridges, which was my favorite part! It rained a lot towards the end but since it is a rain forest that is expected, so bring your rain gear! We saw so many animals on this trip and Diego was so knowledable about the area and animals, plus he was so good at spotting them.

The pick up service and shuttle are very nice if they stop where you are staying. The listing for the tour was very informative so be sure to read and take it all in. Our guide Diego was very nice, professional, and the informative. The hanging Bridges is a nice visit. Diego likes to take a lot of pictures. We learned about the trees, and some wildlife. We did not see a sloth and I felt like we didn't look very hard for one. We then had to drive 1 person back to town because they weren't doing the full tour which seemed inconvenient. Next was the waterfall. Be prepared, it is an intense journey of 500 stairs down but it is worth it!!! I wish we had more time to spend there. We then went to a restaurant in town to eat the traditional Costa Rican food which was okay. Last we went for a hike to the volcano area. It was a fast paced hike to an area where you walk amongst the old lava-flow area with a view of the peak if weather allows you to see. It was informative but probably the least favorite part of the tour. This tour was a good introduction to some basic Costa Rican things and I enjoyed learning about it from Diego. Guys, please tip your guide!

This tour indeed deserves its 5 stars. Wilbert, our tour guide, created an incredibly friendly atmosphere within a group of people who just met each other. He was very knowledgeable and had so many interesting facts to tell. He spotted so many animals - you wouldn’t be able to do it yourself. Henry, our driver, did an amazing job as well. During the tour we were lucky to have no rain (and it’s in the rain season!). We spotted three types of monkeys, frogs, snakes and so many more interesting animals. The whole tour is packed with exciting places each one of which is a must-see in Costa Rica. The lunch was at the local place in La Fortuna with traditional Casado meal. We cleaned our plates in no breath, it was so good. If I were to give any advise to anyone, I’d suggest bringing some snacks - nuts or raisins to keep you active after hikes.

The howler monkeys were active and cool to see running through the trees and interacting with each other. The waterfall was amazing, but they do not lie when they tell you it is 500 steps down and back up. The lunch was good and drinks were refreshing. Our tour guide Valeria (Val) was great and very knowledgeable. She made sure we heard the history of the Arenal Volcano and we were able to see the different peaks driving around. It was a good all day trip.

My husband and I enjoyed this tour very much. Our guide Samatha was great and she specializes in the nature type tour. There were only two other couples on our tour so it was a perfect size. We started with the hanging bridges park where we spent the most time. Samatha pointed out interesting plants and some small creatures that we wouldn’t have noticed if on our own, We enjoyed this park very much. Next was the hike up near the volcano. This wasn’t a long hike, but pretty steep. We got to see close up to the volcano and the area. Last was the waterfall which is gorgeous. It’s quite a ways down the steps to the bottom but enough breaks to help on the way back up. I just took my time. We got to swim by the falls and Samatha watched our belongings while we did and provided towels. We also had a break for lunch after the volcano at the company’s private kitchen which served us some very good local dishes and the staff was great. Would highly recommend this company.

We were a small group of travelers ( from the US and Canada). Our tour guide was amazing. He took pictures with his camera and sent them to us after the tour. The tour required a lot of walking. I was the slowest of the group but still had an amazing time. Everyone was thoughtful. The views were spectacular. It did not rain until lunch. I felt like the times of the activities were planned so well. The rain stopped when we finished lunch. Our guide was wonderful. He liked what he did. He was very knowledgeable. I highly encourage this tour ( just make sure you are physically able to hike and do stairs).

Juan Carlos has truly found his calling leading this tour. Thanks to his knowledge, passion, and expertise we were able to see all the wildlife we had hoped for and more while also learning a lot about the area. From howler monkeys to a sloth, more beautiful birds than we could count and even a tiny blue Jean frog there’s no way we would have seen nearly the amount of activity as we did on this tour if we were on our own. From a logistics standpoint they make it so simple - from ensuring you have enough water throughout the day to providing a delicious authentic lunch we couldn’t have asked for a more seamless experience. We recommend this tour without reservation and will do this tour again ourselves when we come back.

Valeria was the best! This tour was by far our favorite in Costa Rica. Val was knowledgeable, helping us spot a bunch of animals along with providing us facts and history. A few tips: - bring a swimsuit; no need to wear it - plenty of water is provided - you can leave your things in the car between stops - be prepared to do a lot of walking! - the Arenal volcano hike has a lot of sun so bring extra sunscreen or a hat
