Andy was great! He delivered a lot of information about Pest with a tinge of humor. He was very knowledgeable and gave us tips on basic Hungarian words, culture and food! Be sure to tip well because this is a tip-based tour and Andy deserves it!

The tour was free so I did not have much expectation. It was enjoyable, entertaining and informative. Unfortunately I forgot the name of the guide but she was very good. Recommended for any visitors.

Excellent tour. Our guide Judit was very knowledgeable and informative. We learnt a lot about the history of Hungary during the two hour walk. It was well paced and very enjoyable. I would highly recommend this tour.

We are visiting from the US after wrapping up a monthlong bike ride along the Danube. We extended our Budapest stay because we’d read so many excellent reviews of the city. Mate, our guide, gave us an excellent tour full of history and great stories and insight. His English is very good and he answered questions very well. He also engaged the group and kept people interested - it was a good overview of the Pest side of the river that I would have missed had we just stumbled around on our own. We’ve done several of the Free Tours and the guides work very hard, probably because they work for tips. So be generous! Only other advice is to stand near the guide so you can catch everything. Sometimes guides talk fast and that, plus the slight accent, can make it hard to comprehend at a distance. Enjoy Budapest!

Really enjoyed the tour and our guide Clara was excellent. The train tour doesn’t add anything to the experience. Boat trip and visit to Tihany were very enjoyable.

This was such a great intro to Budapest and our guide Judit was so friendly and knowledgeable. I think 2 hours is a perfect amount of time. Make sure to bring some cash with you if you want to tip, as the guides rely on tips.

Esther was an excellent guide and we got a good feel for the city and which areas we wanted to return to. There was lots of time for questions and to take photos. Esther pointed out the various styles of architecture and related it to the history and rulers of the time. I highly recommend this for your first day in Budapest.

Judit was an excellent guide. She gave us a really good introduction to the history of Hungary and the city with never any sense of talking down to us or underestimating the group’s intelligence. She was lively and well paced, dealt well with contested history, and threw in a few jokes too. Altogether a very good tour.
