What to expect
Only 20 minutes from San José Downtown, enjoy the majesty of the Rain Forest at the Carpintera Hills, gliding between trees hanging from steel cables . All along the travel through the forest reserve you will be able to watch sloths, birds and an exuberant flora . You will also be able to enjoy a panoramic view of the Central Valley, Poás Volcano and Irazú Volcano, and the Tres Marías Hills. The Canopy Tour includes 3 acivities: a short hike (15 minutes), 19 platforms, 13 cables, the longest cable has a length of aprox. 1500 ft (500 meters), and 2 rappels (40 & 10 meters).

Great morning spent with wonderful guides Diego and Dylan. If you are staying in San Jose and don’t have time (or don’t want) to go far it’s an easy trip (20-30 mins) for some fun and adventurous zip lining. We did the morning trip (got going around 9am) and finished around noon. Lots of fun.

The guides were fantastic and the whole family had a blast. Even though it’s not far from the city you really do get immersed into the canopy and get to enjoy several zip lines. One of the highlights of our trip to Costa Rica!

Diego, Alejandro, and Richie are AMAZING guides! My mom has some stability issues due to past health issues and had some trouble doing the hike and Diego and Alejandro stayed by her side the whole time, they would not let her give up even when she wanted to! The whole time they were encouraging her and telling her how proud of her they are and how brave she is—the truth! On the hike up the mountain, Alejandro played her favorite song on his phone for her as encouragement to keep going! There aren’t enough exclamation points I could type that would show how much we appreciated them and enjoyed ourselves. The views from the course are amazing and the lines are very well constructed, but what makes this tour so great are the guides. Every single guide was kind and encouraging. We felt so safe in their capable hands!! Thank you so much, La Carpintera guides, for an absolutely unforgettable experience!! I would recommend this tour 1000000000000%, especially to anyone wanting an experience near San Jose (completely accessible via Uber there and back).
