Stop At: Khao Lak Beach, Phang-nga, Thailand
Get an early pickup service from the hotel in Khao Lak by air-conditioned minivan and get driven to the pier. After a warm welcome by the Wow Andaman team, enjoy a light breakfast with coffee and tea, and pick out your snorkeling gear. Your guide will give you useful safety instructions and information about the tour program before cruising to the Similan Islands in less than 90 minutes.
The first stop will be at Koh Miang (Island No. 4) where you can enjoy the beautiful views of the white sand contrasting the color of the sea. If you are lucky, you can spot Nicobar flying foxes and Nicobar pigeons.
Head further to Koh Payu (Island No. 7) which offers stunning snorkelling spots rich in hard and soft corals. Spot colourful species of fish which are swimming among the coral reefs.
After a short cruise you will arrive at Ko Bangu (Island No. 9). It is the northern most island with one of the best snorkeling spots for varied fish life on it’s eastern side, a arch of reef called Breakfast Bend laden with sea fans, staghorns growths and coral outcrops.
Are you feeling hungry? Savour a delicious picnic lunch on a secluded, white-sand beach on Koh Similan (Island No. 8). It is the largest island with stunning views and hikes through jungle and over mountains. After lunch you can walk up to the Sailing Rock which is a huge rock formation on the upper part of the beach, where at the lookout point a massive rock is shaped like a ship’s sail.
Then it's already time to head back to the pier in Khao Lak where you can enjoy a light meal before the driver will take you safely back to the hotel with lasting impressions and nice memories.
Please note that the Similan Islands National Park is officially opened to the public from 15th October until 15th May.

Tasty breakfast, fantastic staff - thank you Bobby and team on boat no 1. Beaches are beautiful, snacks and food perfect size portions and extras if we had needed. Snorkelling by family was enjoyed so much. Monitor lizards (or similar) amused the people whilst having lunch. Definitely recommend. Boat was very cramped, long ride with fuel fumes and the whole way was banging on the sea. People at front had to be moved to the back and sat on the floor. Island beautiful when we first arrived but within a short time was crawling with people. Food average, toilets messy. Coral not great, mostly dead because it has been touched all the time. Beach nice but packed. Maybe the day we went was rougher than usual but personally would not recommend from our experience. We went in April 2016 so may have improved.A smoothly run tour with excellent guides & staff. Always keeping safety in mind whilst giving us the best experience. We visited the Similan Islands with our elderly parents booking with WOW Andaman Tours. We were collected punctually from our accommodation about half an hour away and delivered home with ease. Arty and his amazing team went out of their way to assist with our elderly guests. There were 39 travellers on our boat and the whole team were very considerate and attentive to all guests, from families, young couples and the older ones. The trip to and from the islands was approximately an hour and half from Khao Lak. Arty was very knowledgeable and keep everyone entertained. The team and boat crew did an excellent job keeping everything running smoothly. The islands themselves were very beautiful and water was extremely clear, refreshing and sand was white and powdery. We stopped off 2 times for snorkelling and 2 different islands for swimming/exploration. We were provided refreshments all throughout the day and ample lunch. The day was very long but worth it. Many other guests were weary after the travel. Upon return to Khao Lak we were provided another meal/refreshments before being dropped back to our accommodation. We booked early in the season, (2nd day of the open season) commencing October through to May, so the anticipated tourist numbers were less than half, around 1500, but we did not notice that many as Arty and his team were conscious of taking us to the quieter spots at the quieter times. Well organised. The only thing that was odd from our point of view was that we had to take off our shoes to get on the boat, which I understand. We expected our shoes to come with us which they did not. Do walking around on the islands much was not an option with no shoes. Many of the Japanese/Asian tourists were obviously given the heads up about this matter and wore reef shoes/socks, so they had some support for their feet. Our elderly parents struggled getting on and off the boat and walking around on the islands. My husband and I could not do the hike up a rock either as we had no shoes. However we enjoyed just relaxing under the trees anyway. We did bring this to Arty’s attention in case they should be able to allow shoes for island walking/visiting. Upon returning, getting off the boat with the low tide and steep ramp and no shoes was also a little difficult. The team however did go out of their to help our parents at all times which was very much appreciated. All up, it was worth the trip, however we are spoilt by magnificent beaches etc in Australia as well. Arty and his amazing team definitely made the trip more memorable. My husband and I with another couple hired a private tour for the day out the the Similan islands. My husband and I with another couple hired a private tour for the day out the the Similan islands. It was a bit of a trek from the hotel but the accommodations were fantastic. Breakfast was waiting at the pier and was very good. We met with our guide Arti and got an early start on the boat. He knew the islands very well and was able to find us some secluded beaches and great snorkeling before the crowds set in. Lunch was a full Thai meal on one of the white sand beaches and was AMAZING. It started raining during lunch and they moved our table just to find some cover. The entire staff was fantastic. Afterwards we were supposed to do a short hike to sailing rock but because of the rain the rangers had shut it down. Arti knew another path to a great viewpoint and so we did that instead and were not disappointed. The snorkeling was some of the best we have done and Arti has an eye for finding all sorts of beautiful things in the water. When we got back there was a full buffet style meal waiting on the pier. Arti also was great about taking photos that will last a lifetime. It was a fantastic day and when we come back to Thailand would definitely hire them again.
