White water rafting class II & III
Overview
A fun combination of whitewater thrills and areas where the water is docile enough to jump in and go for a swim. This is perfect for a family adventure and for beginners. Wildlife abound in this section of the Balsa so keep an eye out for sloths, iguanas, howler monkeys and a vast array of tropical birds. However this trip is not all about relaxation. The rolling, tumbling class 2-3 rapids will be enough to bring laughter and excitement to the whole family. The trip will be guided by our awesome and safe guides that could make a puddle of mud fun. As with every trip, there will be one stop for locally grown, organic fruits and another stop for an authentic Costa Rican lunch, you’ll also learn about the growing, harvesting, production of chocolate, medical plants, fruits and sugar cane.

What to expect

Stop At: Costa Rica Descents, Via 702 500 meter south from the Catholic Church of La Fortuna, next to Supermarket Super Rosvil, Arenal Volcano National Park, La Fortuna de San Carlos 21001 Costa Rica
At our office you will have the chance to use the bathroom and changing rooms before we drive to the river.

On the way to the river we will drive though La Fortuna town, you will se La Fortuna park and church.
Stop At: The Boat House Bar & Grill, Ruta 702, 250 metros al sur de la Iglesia Catolica Contiguo al Super Rosvil, Oficina Costa Rica Descents Rafting, Provincia de Alajuela, La Fortuna, 21007, Costa Rica
You will enjoy a delicious organic lunch - buffet style - at this amazing two floor restaurant with the with of Arenal Volcano.

We will drive by the beautiful El Salto Waterfall.

Very well organized and we had a great time. Humberto our driver and Warner our guide were great guides and transport to and from the rafting. We went as a family with two younger children (7 and 10) and the entire ride felt safe and fun. Our raft captain was Roberto and he took good care to make sure the kids were safe but having fun. We stopped half way through the ride for some pineapples and watermelon. Before the ride we got to stop to pickup some water. Ride to the river was about 50 mins and the ride back was about 30. Be sure to bring water shoes but if you forget they do have them available for purchase. Ok the ride we got to see some sloths, bats, owls, monkeys and frogs (pointed out by our captain). Overall an awesome family experience!This was such an amazing time. The entire process was seem less and extremely enjoyable. Arelius was such a wonderful guide and was extremely knowledgeable. The lunch that was included was very authentic and tasty. I highly recommend this for anyone visiting La Fortunate.

I wanted adrenaline infused adventure meanwhile a few family members were in search of safe and slow outdoor time, our tour guide’s name was Warner and he made sure to accommodate the whole family. Had the little ones screaming of joy and exceeded everyone’s expectations when he jumped out of our raft to grab us some delicious fruit. So many memories were made and Warner was not the only person to make an impression other tour guides would interact with our family to make it fun for all around. Thank you Warner, Orlando, Charlie and everyone else who made our day so memorable.We did two raftings with this company, one in Lands in Love eith Gigo and one in Sarapiqui with Roberto.
