This is the second tour we've done with Lucy, and this one was equally as good as the first. Just the right amount of information with added humour around an area that, although I've lived in Nottingham most of my life, I hadn't really explored before. Lucy is very knowledgeable and informative. Can't wait to be able to do the T.C. Hine walk!

Booked a private tour with friends from Nottingham. It made a lovely change to do something different on a Sunday. I've always had a fascination with old building and their story and Lucy told it so well. Love looking up and imagining what the building was used for. Great to find out more about Watson Fothergill and his character. Highly recommend day out, and topped off with a fantastic Sunday lunch to finish the day off at Fothergills πŸ‘πŸ‘ πŸ‘πŸ‘πŸ‘

Really enjoyed this walk, led by our fun and unflappable guide Lucy. A good reminder to Look Up when you are out and about in the city!

We really enjoyed this walk despite a pigeon leaving a unwanted gift on Laura ( its apparently good luck) it was fascinating to hear and see our heritage open up before our eyes with such expert and convivial company. Lucy really knows her stuff and this is a great way to learn more about Nottingham and Watson Fothergill.

I've now done this tour twice and each time I learnt new things. A great way to see some of Nottingham's interesting (and sometimes overlooked) Victorian architecture. Lucy is fantastic tourguide. This tour is highly recommended!

This was a fascinating tour that really opened my eyes to lots of wonderful architectural details and things that I'd never even noticed before, despite having lived in Nottingham most of my life. Lucy is so well informed about the subject matter and has all the details to hand. She manages to make the tour interesting and engaging throughout, and adds her own splashes of humour to it. The tour is primarily interesting for the obvious architectural angle, but in showing you the many buidings that Watson Fothergill designed, Lucy also manages to bring a lot of the 19th and early 20th century history of the city to life. Highly recommended!

This walking tour on a Sunday morning with Lucy was like being on holiday in our own city. Instead of going into town, doing jobs, and going home again, we took our time and admired the wonderfully ornate architecture of Watson Fothergill. Lucy's knowledge of her subject was extensive and she put it across to make it accessible, interesting and amusing for all of us in the group of twenty people. She took us to pertinent buildings and pointed out the intricacies of each. We now feel we know far more about these buildings of Nottingham than we did before and from now on we will be more aware and able to absorb more about one of our local prominent architects. We had thought about joining one of Lucy's tours for a long time and now we've been we wouldn't have wanted to miss this for anything. We will certainly like to join more of her tours in future. Thank you so much Lucy.

Thoroughly enjoyed our tour with Lucy. She adds detail and knowledge and humour to her tour. It lasted just over 2 hours. Having lived in the city for nearly 50 years it was a revelation! I need to look up more. Ended at Fothergills next to the Castle so had a Sunday roast then looked round the Castle. Brilliant day

Lucy is very engaging and helps you visualise the stories she tells about the locations. I almost felt I knew the architect by the end - it was a lovely touch to finish the walk at Fothergills. I was born in Nottingham and have mostly lived around the area and I've not noticed most of what she showed us today. Highly recommend:)

So glad that we were able to take part in one of Lucy's tours of Watson Fothergill architecture in Nottingham - there was so much to discover, and will now walk around with my head up, noticing some of the cities quirky architectural features. Lucy in an expert on the man himself and kept us engaged throughout the whole tour. If you're wanting to do something different in Nottingham, then I'd definitely recommend Lucy's tour. Thanks Lucy!

The tour guide was very good, well informed and engaging. Not only did she talk about Watson Fothergill and his work, she also related other architects showing a really in-depth knowledge of the cities architecture and local history. I found that the guide knew a lot not just about architecture, but also Watson Fothergill's history and life which I found fascinating. All in all very informative and I will now look at the city of Nottingham in a very different light.

Lucy at Watson Fothergill Walks is one of Nottinghams secret treasures and If you want to know more about the history of Nottingham, are interested in the history of the lace trade, love architecture or just have a few hours to kill you really must go on one of her walks (or several, she knows SO MUCH) I've lived in Nottingham nearly 25 years, have a degree in history of art and worked in the lace trade and still learned more in two hours than I thought possible. It helps that Lucy is a natural commedian and performer of course, but thats only the start. Her research is meticulous and her knowledge is exceptional.
