What to expect
Marvel at the Hapsburg era (16th and 17th centuries) and admire the Spanish baroque: Plaza Mayor, Bakery House, Plaza de la Villa, etc. Among the tangle of streets, discover top attractions such as Puerta del Sol Square, the Royal Post Office, San Miguel Market or the oldest restaurant in the world. All of this accompanied by legends and interesting facts about Spanish culture: traditions, food, local customs, tips and much more.
The narrow streets of the Old Town will take us to the Bourbon Madrid where we will find majestic buildings such as The Royal Palace, the Almudena Cathedral or the Royal Theatre. Here the French influence of the Bourbon dynasty is more than evident.
This tour gives you a great overview about Madrid history from its foundation to the 20th century.

We booked our places on line through the website. We immediately received a confirmation and a further reminder of joining instructions on the day before our visit. We thoroughly enjoyed our 2 hour walking tour with Tatiana as our guide. The tour was conducted at a comfortable pace and in perfect English. Even my 6 year old son enjoyed it. The walk included a good variety of visits and stops and Tatiana provided us with a wealth of interesting historical, cultural, political and anecdotal information. She even showed us the oldest restaurant in the world and thanks to her we saw the table inside it where Ernest Hemingway was sitting when visiting Madrid. We would highly recommend this trip and had our stay in Madrid been longer we would certainly have joined her again for one of the alternative tours offered by the company.
