Walking tour Lisbon - The original tour

Get to know important things about the country and the people, the culture and the history of this fascinating city. Stroll with us through the streets of Baixa, where we will have the opportunity to show you some hidden places you would not have found on your own.

At the Rossio, the most important place in the city, you will get to know how Lisbon became the city it is today after the great earthquake of 1755. Marvel at the elevator of Santa Justa, at the obelisk of the Rastauradores square and at the train station of the Rossio, built in New-Manueline-style.

Listen to the history of the Carnation revolution on the Carmo square back in 1974 where the Portuguese dictatorship came to an end.

Walk with us through the elegant Chiado quarter with its old cafes, shops, theaters and book shops - and enjoy a short ride in one of Lisbon's old trams. Before this ride, we will invite you for a Pastel de Nata tasting, our delicious custard tart.

Stroll over the small squares and narrow streets of the old Moor quarter, where the time seems to stand still and visit the oldest church of the city, the Sé. Afterwards we will have a small wine tasting with some Portuguese cheese and chouriço.

The tour ends at the Praça do Comercio, the former gate to the city and the world, one of the biggest and most beautiful places in Europe.

Included in product price:

  • Tickets for the tram;
  • Pastel de Nata (Custard tart);
  • Wine tasting with some Portuguese cheese and chouriço.

Fabio made a real effort. It was his "maiden voyage", considering that it was pretty good. He surely has good potential. The organisational preparations / coordination was perfect.

Inspite of the heavy rain, our guide Sandra Jaworowska made a real joy of this tour. She provided us with important facts, was very kind and the breaks with cherry liqueur and pudding tartlets topped it off. Anytime again!

In our opinion, there could've been more stories about the several stops and about the history of Lisbon. Also, we would've appreciated to hear about current social topic from the guide herself and not only after we did ask for it.

I can only recommend this tour. We did learn a lot about the history and current events. Sustenance was provided as well: coffee, cakes and of course the famous liqueur. A drive with the tram is also included. The guide was very kind. The tour was absolutely worth it.

The tour with Helena was great and is highly recommendable! It'd be best to plan such a tour as a first activity in Lisbon so that you can benefit from the tour the most. We did get a lot of helpful tips and information about the country and the people and we saw a lot of beautiful places in Lisbon. Thank you Helena! But we have a small complaint regarding rent-a-guide: In my booking, I mentioned that we would start with the tour a bit earlier than the booking tour. For Helena, that wouldn't have been a problem, but unfortunately, that wish didn't reach her at all.

Lisbon is a great city and with a competent guide you learn a lot more about the coutnry and the people than with a guide book.

Unfortunately, we were only able to book this tour at the end of our vacation. Nevertheless, Sandra was able to give us a lot of tips and an insight to the everyday life of the Portugese. It was a very informative and entertaining afternoon. We can only recommend this tour!

The value for money for this tour is not justified. Too less information, tour was done too quickly.

I can only recommend a tour with rent-a-guide to anyone. We were shown important places and also places off the beaten track. But we would've wished for some more historical information.
