Overview
Chichén Itzá (in Mayan: Chichen Itza, 'Boca-del-pozo (chichén) de los brujos-de-agua (Itzá)' is one of the main archaeological sites of the Yucatan Peninsula, in Mexico, located in the state of The god who presides over the site, according to Mayan mythology, is Kukulcan, Mayan representation of Quetzalcoatl, god taken from the pantheon of the Toltec culture. Chichen Itza was a city or a ceremonial center, which passed through various construction periods and influences of the different towns that occupied it and that drove it from its foundation. The Chichen Itza archaeological zone was inscribed in the list of the World Heritage by Unesco in 1988.3 On July 7, 2007, the Temple of Kukulcán, located in Chichén Itza, was recognized as one of the New Seven Wonders of the Modern World, by a private initiative without the support of Unesco, but with the recognition of millions of voters around the world.

The 1 star was mainly because we didn't receive This tour was falsely advertised and neither the tour company nor Viator took any responsibility. We were promised breakfast, alcoholic drinks, and Suytun cenote which was removed from the description after I reported this issue a day after the booking. We specifically booked this tour for this cenote and no this was not a change due to weather or anything else. -When I informed one of the guides my group hadn't received breakfast he said our booking was wrong and it essentially was not their fault. -When we asked about Suytun, we were told "whoever wrote that description was wrong" and again it's not their problem. -alcoholic drinks...none -When we reached out to the company directly, they stopped responding -They denied the partial refund even though we only received a partial tour -We had a toddler with us so when arriving at Chichén Itzá no information was given to us about the toddler's ticket until after we reached the gate and after an argument with the main tour guide Pro: -The company is owned by a Mayan Things to note: -verify inclusions BEFORE booking -bring bug repellent, sunscreen, hats, swimwear, etc -lockers and life jackets are only $2-3 per person -lunch, only water, and soft drinks are included capped at 2 per person -most of the time is spent driving or waiting usually in shopping areas -if you're interested in touring Valladolid this is NOT the tour for you...we spent 20mins there which was barely enough time to hop off the bus, stand in line for a snack, take a picture or two and hop back on the bus. -it's about 60-90mins at the cenote, lunch, and Chichén Itzá -if your resort is gated they drop you off outside the gate...not a big deal but it's worth mentioning -for us, pick up was at 7.30 am and drop off around 8.30 pmBeverly_C

Absolutely worth every penny and MORE!!!! it was an amazing day full of history and fun at the end of the day. Completely inexpensive. The guide did an amazing job. Must do!!!

We had so much fun with this tour!! Pastor and "Speedy Gonzalez" were great. Pastor was very knowledgeable on the area and all the history at Chichen Itza. We had a great group that was very engaging and he was very very helpful!! Chichen Itza is a must see at least once in your life. Pictures do...

We had a great group that was very engaging and he was very very helpful!! Chichen Itza is a must see at least once in your life. Pictures do not do it justice. You think ok it will be big but you just can't imagine how big it is until you see it. Valladolid was nice but it was something that we could have done without if we could have had more time at Chichen Itza. The Mayan Cenote was nice. I was expecting to go to the Suytun cenote but the one we went to was nice. It was open and we could jump off the side into the water. Bring extra clothes to change into. Also lunch was supplied and a packed breakfast. It was a sandwich, apple, and juice. It worked but if you don't like those then don't get the deluxe package because that's the only real difference besides drinks. But you can bring food with you and drinks so you won't have to pay the extra cost. The only thing I really wish that we could have done was spent more time at Chichen Itza and not felt as rushed. BUT Pastor did get us some of the best pictures of our trip! So if you can do recommendations on a guide please get him. He's amazing!Lawrence_Z

The 1 hour long wait to pick up everyone on our bus. The shabby Mayan town where we ate. The arrival at chichen itza in the afternoon when it was unbearably hot. We should have gone there first
