Vermont Nature Trail- Deep in the mountainous bosom of St.Vincent lays hikers’ paradise, the cloud 9 for nature and animal enthusiasts, St. Vincent’s Eco-tourist hotspot; the Vermont Nature Trail. The 2 mile trek through the lush woodlands of Vermont is a riveting experience as you will encounter many species of animals and plants including the St.Vincent parrot, our national bird, Amazona Guildingii and Whistling Warbler, both unique to St. Vincent and strictly protected. The is also the habitat for the "House Wren, The Common Black Hawk, Cocoa Thrush, the Crested Hummingbird, Redcappped Green Tanager, Green Heron" and other interesting species. This is the main watershed on the island, which is responsible for 40% of all local pipe borne water. With many look-out points, where one can behold the wonders of nature, a visit to this site is sure to be a memorable one. Facilities includes parking, information/welcome booth, vending kiosk and washroom. The other stops on this tour are as follows: Fort Charlotte, Table Rock and Buccama Beach.
