The trip was very good. The stop at Uros to see how the people lived was interesting and enjoyable although a bit touristy. Although I was the only English speaking passenger Joseph was very even in the time he spent explaining things and from time to time he sat with me to give me more detail. Taquile Island was also interesting and the scenery was beautiful. Lunch was included and at a hill side restaurant and I had the best trout meal I can ever remember.
We were lucky with our guide Samuel (tour operator Inka Lake): he is VERY helpful, friendly, knowledgeable guide who provided lots of very interesting facts about Uros community.
That was a very well organized trip, an excellent guide, Samuel, provided by Inka Lake company who provided lot of details about the life and culture of these communities. Strongly recommended as a unique experience, if you get in this area of Peru.
Sam was very knowledgeable and a caring person. I would recommend this tour :). A great day on the boat and exploring the reed islands and Taquille.
Outside the fact that the boat goes faster on the return trip, it is not worth the money it costs. The boat was dirty and old, the seats not comfortable. The only good thing were the guides that knew their subject.
Loved it! Yes, it was touristy and, yes, they had a lot of items to sell, but it was still fascinating to learn how they made these floating islands and listen to their history and culture. We took a small boat to another island where they sold coffee and pastries. You must try one of the cone shaped ones I have pictured. Be prepared for a long, steep hike when you arrive at Taquile Is., but the view from the top is amazing! We strolled through the village, toured some of the shops and learned about the local attire and the significance of which way the tassel is worn on the men's hats. We had a delicious lunch before boarding our boat for the return to Puno.
We had a terrific time learning and exploring the cultures of Uros and Taquile. The staff were friendly, engaging and knowledgeable of at every stop along the way.
Amazing experience. The tour was very well organized. I strongly recommend taking the Fast boat tour as opposed to tours on a regular boat. Even though the lake is beautiful and the boat is comfortable, doubling the time you spend on a boat would have been painful.
Interesting experience. I never see something like this .
Great tour and guide. Overpriced through Viator
The autos island was an incredible experience! The Taquile Island also had a diff rent feel, npbut the hike with the altitude was quite brutal.
Tour guide Samuel very knowledgeable! Highly recommend!
Great tour. Our guide, Samauel was very professional. Pick up to the minute. We highly recommend this local company and especially our guide. Super job.
