The trip was certainly an enjoyable experience. Siena was a lovely medieval city which has a unique charm to it; we didn't want to leave! The farm Estate was magical, sitting outside in the garden surrounded by the Tuscan countryside with San Gimignano in the background literally felt like we were in a fantasy world or inside a painting. Very picturesque from wherever you look. We (me and my 2 sisters) tried to take many pictures but we eventually stopped as the photos on our phones did not do it justice. You really have to physically be there to fully experience it!
The only problem was that some of our fellow travellers were heavy smokers, and not always considerate when we were walking together (the smoke was going in our faces which I found quite rude).
Lastly Alex the tour guide (a local florentine) was very kind, amusing and had a nice sense of humour. He was always there if you needed help or had any questions.
As we went in Late September 2020, the covid19 pandemic did not entirely have a negative impact on our journey (I would say the weather was more of a concern to us than the coronavirus).
Would I book again? Definitely!
Thanks again Alex it was lovely to meet you.
We really enjoyed this trip. It was a great way to see the Tuscan countryside and some of the other places near Florence during our week's stay in the city. The cathedral at Siena was mind blowing, much more to see inside than the Florence Duomo. We had an excellent lunch of traditional Tuscan food accompanied by four different wines at a vineyard / farm after a brief but interesting tour round the farm and winery. San Gimignano was very atmospheric and we bought ice cream from a gelateria which had won best in the world trophy. Pisa was also amazing but make sure you get tickets in advance if you want to go up the tower as the ticket office was closed when we arrived. The guides were excellent and spoke very good English. I would highly recommend this trip.
I throughly enjoyed this tour :) It covered all the places I wanted to visit, there was enough time at each location and the lunch was great with four different types of wine and a spectacular view. I would recommend it to anyone. By far, the best tour I've ever joined. Many thanks to the driver, Antonio and the guide, Olivia.
A fantastic tour, brilliantly organised. Ample time in each place to explore and see the highlights. Scenery is beautiful and very reasonably priced considering how difficult it would be to see all 3 locations in one day otherwise. Our host (Annalise) was fantastic, always smiling and asking after everybody.
Really enjoyed. Will be telling all my friends about this back in Wales. The wine and lunch was beautiful. Thanks to our wonderful guide Olivia (Hope spelt name right, tour 19th September?
Big thanks to both Emiliano and Alessandro for a great tour. I enjoyed Siena the most, but it's worth to take this tour and see all the other places in one day too.
What a great experience, everything went well. Great food great guide (Olivia) and great driver (Antonio) highly suggest this tour!
We had a lovely time on our tour and would highly recommend to anyone traveling to Italy. Olivia was very well informed and helpful, going above and beyond to provide us insights into each city and also personalized recommendations for our stay in Florence. The tour is well designed and did an excellent job taking into account COVID safety considerations. We're really glad we did this.
We had a lovely day trip to the outskirts of Florence. Our guide Sarah was lovely and super helpful and knowledgeable. The towns of Sienna and San Gimignano are amazing, like stepping back in time with so much culture and history backed up by food that is out of this world! The lunch in the Chianti region with wine tasting was superb and definitely worth another visit!
A highly recommended tour! We managed to see quite a lot in one day, without getting too tired. Definitely the best money spent so far during my 2 weeks trip, with visits to the Tuscan cities of Siena and San Gimignano, lunch at a vineyard in the Tuscan countryside in between and the day completed with a trip to Pisa.
If you're impressed with the Duomo of Florence, wait till you see the Duomo of Siena!
If you think you've had amazing gelato, wait till you try the world best gelato in San Gimignano!
I can't praise our guide Sarah enough. She was really passionate about Tuscany and Italy, well organised and articulate. She was always there to help, whether to cater for different dietary requirements for lunch or for suggestions for the day trip and even our onwards travel.
Overall an excellent experience which would have been missed if it wasn't for this tour
A great day! Olivia was a fantastic tour guide and the tour guide at Siena was knowledgeable.
San Gimingano is a must-see and is beautiful and the amount of time spent at Pisa was just right
The highlight of my trip so far.
Such a good day travelling through Tuscany - our guide Olivia was brilliant, giving us loads of info along the way and recommendations too :) Siena and San Gimignano were beautiful cities and it was great to see the tower of Pisa up close too. The highlight was definitely the agriturismo wine and farm tour with lunch with amazing views over Chianti and San Gimignano in the distance.
We had a fabulous day taking in Siena, San Gimignano, Pisa and also wine tour and lunch at Fattoria Poggio Alloro.
The day was made very special by our host, Stefano. We have been on many tours throughout Europe and Stefano was definitely one of the best! He was knowledgeable about everywhere we went and was able to answer anything that was asked of him.
Stefano was very inclusive and made sure that he got to speak to everyone on the trip. He gave us lots of great tips too.
We would definitely recommend this tour.
This was a perfect way to get out into the countryside and experience some of the smaller towns in Tuscany, not to mention the delicious lunch! Olivia was an excellent guide, the company ensured Covid safety restrictions were adhered to, and I would absolutely recommend this trip to anyone.
Elisa was such an amazing tour guide. Was an amazing day and saw beautiful Tuscany!! Would highly recommend to anyone. I went solo and met some lovely people in the group!
Absolutely amazing tour, food, wine, and sites. Elisa our tour guide was very patient, resourceful, and informative about Tuscany! Highly recommend this tour if you truly want the real feel for Tuscany!!
Had the most incredible time on our day trip! We loved the whole experience from the people we met, to our Guide Alex. He was so knowledgable, friendly, and happy to answer any questions we had. It is an incredible value for money for everything we got to see- I would highly recommend this trip and Walkabout Florence to my friends, family, and anyone interested in a Tuscany day trip, or any other trips they provide. I am looking forward to returning to Florence to take part in more trips!
It is May 2020 and I am reflecting on the wonderful experiences of 2019 and this is by far one of those experiences. This was my first trip to Italy with friends and we booked this awesome excursion. From the beginning to the end it was a wonderful experience. We had an American tour guide and she was exceptional. The scenic ride there and back, the history lesson by the professor, the sights, the lovely vineyard and the palette pleasing lunch. I found the prized two items that I longed for (Italian purse and par fume). The surprise for us all was visiting the Leaning Tower of Pisa. The people on our trip were pleasant and our driver was awesome. I would highly recommend this ALL DAY trip.
Loved this tour! It was a long day, but we got to see a lot and all of our tour guides were great. I especially loved the lunch at the winery in Tuscany. Everything was amazing!
Christian (with an "H"!) was our tour guide on this day trip, and he was fantastic! He was so sweet, funny, informative, and engaging. We absolutely loved our day trip. The tour of Siena was very interesting and informative, our lunch in Chianti was delicious, peaceful, and beautiful (and filling!), and the stops in San Giminiano and Pisa were the perfect amount of time to capture photos and get a taste of the local sights and culture. It was perfectly planned and we couldn't have asked for a better day. Highly recommend this if you want to get a taste of the Tuscan countryside and are short on time. Wish we could have stayed for longer! Thank you Christian (and Antonio, our driver)!
Fabulous tour. Can’t wait to go back to Tuscany. Elisa, our guide, and driver Emile were wonderful. They made the day even more fun. Don’t miss this tour.
One Day sightseeing was never enough. Should had stayed one day in Siena and San Gimignano. Awesome and beautiful.
Disappointed that visiting PISA was rushing, like 1 1/2 hours only.
Lunch was amazing. With seconds and delicious wine. Good trip. Long but we saw a lot. Our tour guide was excellent and well informed. Enjoyed this the most. Seeing Pisa at sunset amazing and such few people.
Our tour guide Elisaaaaa was just amazing, she was very thorough with historical events that took place in different areas we visited. She even told us where to get the best gelato and which flavor to try (so delicious). Thank you so much Elisaa, you did a great great job. I will let everyone know about this tour, and I would do it for sure. Last, we had a very good lunch, the food was very delicious :-)
If you don't have many days in Tuscany this tour is a fantastic way to learn about the region and experience some real highlights of the area. Every part of the tour was different but every stop was interesting, educational and entertaining. Sienna with it's incredible church was truly a gem of a town; the farm lunch was delicious and the views were amazing; we felt transported back to the Renaissance in beautiful San Gimignano; and of course the Leaning Tower of Pisa was amazing. Our tour guide Elisa and our driver Emilio were both wonderful. Elisa was warm and funny and provided just the right amount of history and background to be interesting but not overwhelming. I would highly recommend this tour.
This tour was amazing. Beautiful views with delicious food and wine that complimented the historical background of the beautiful Tuscany areas. The day was jam packed with great stuff: Siena, The Farm(where we got fed an amazing authentic Italian meal including wine) with gorgeous views, San Gimignano, and finished the evening at the leaning tower of Pisa. Climbing up the tower of Pisa was totally worth the effort to enjoy the breathtaking views from the top. Our tour lead was Alessandro, bus driver was Antonio, and the guide in Siena was Analisa- Rock Star team! They were all fabulous and great at what they do. The team seemed very passionate and friendly making the people on the tour feel welcome and comfortable. Thank you for an amazing day in the beautiful Tuscany countryside!!
Very well planned and Christian was very accommodating to everyone's needs. The Tower of Pisa is strategically scheduled for sunset...it was amazing and memorable.
This all day tour was outstanding! Siena, the winery with lunch, San Gimignano (which Alessandro helped us pronounce correctly!) and Pisa. It was the best out of all of our tours. Alessandro is the best and conversed with the group as well as one on one! Highly recommend taking this tour with Alessandro if you have the opportunity.
Our Guide Elisa was very friendly, nice and knowledgeable. The tour was organized well and everything ran on time . Would recommend this tour
Fantastic tour especially if you are limited on time in the Tuscany region. Our tour guide, Alberto was informative, fun and gracious throughout the almost 12 hour tour. It was ambitious to cover 3 towns plus a Tuscan winery but we didn’t feel rushed and we were delighted with the end result—a perfect day where we truly experienced Italy at its best! This tour was one of the highlights of our 8 days in Italy. Thank you to Fabio, our driver who transported us around very safely. Thank you, thank you for an all-around great experience!
