A very knowledgeable guide who was also entertaining. She knew not only the history of the Rocks but Sydney as a whole. It was raining the day of our walk but that did ot take anything away from the experience but in a way inhanced it as you could feel more of what early settler's put up with, our guide could supply umbrellas if needed.
Amazing tour!!! I deeply enjoyed this interesting and a historical tour. Our tour guide Vickie, she was just the best! she was patient, and didn’t mind going a little bit overtime as we were asking so many questions and taking way too many pictures. She really went the extra mile showing us other places that we could be interested in. I highly recommend doing this tour, it was especially nice being able to do it with just one more person in the tour, we practically ended up having a private tour experience.
One of the FEW "perks" of Corona is that you are not sharing the most famous sights in the world with big crowds of tourists these days... So it happened that we showed up as the only two participants for the guided rocks tour. We enjoyed that luxury and our tourguide Fiorella did an excellent job sharing all her knowledge with us! She also encouraged us to ask questions. We loved the depth of the conversation and even my partner who is originally from Sydney learned a couple of new things about his own town ;) The tour is takes place outdoor at all times. On the day we did the tour it was around 30 degrees, but we always managed to find a shady spot. It was not a lot of walking. Tour can be mastered with any fitness level. Thank you, we had a great time.
We had a tour with Michael today. We booked online a few weeks ago then had to change the date. Michael was more than happy to be flexible and fixed things up straight away. Checking in was easy and Michael was friendly. He had a microphone and speaker to assist with social distancing and so we could still hear him. The tour was really interesting. We went into some little nooks and crannies we may well have missed otherwise. Michael’s knowledge was very good and he tells great stories. He was able to relate his stories and anecdotes to his audience. Highly recommended
A really interesting & informative tour of the Rocks area, which are steeped in history. Our guide was very knowledgeable & interactive making the tour fun as well. Would definitely recommend to anyone visiting the area to give them an insight into what life was like back in the day & discover all the little nooks & crannies.
It was a great way to see the history of Australia. You are left with a strong sense of gratitude for learning so much in 90 minutes. We loved the knowledge of our tour guide Fiorella who engaged audiences, catered to the needs of different ages, and made each minute memorable in the most entertaining way. This tour de force is the type of classroom I would like to run as a teacher. Absolutely compelling and a must-see for anyone who loves this great nation.
This was 90 minutes well spent with a knowledgeable and pleasant guide - interesting and informative history of the early convict settlers and their lives. Terrific vistas and secret alleys. Don’t think our kids would have survived the longer version!
Our guide Vickie was knowledgeable, friendly and a good storyteller. We gained a good appreciation of the history of the Rocks and Australia and had an enjoyable time
We did a historical walk of The Rocks. Michael our tour guide was very knowledgeable and informative and engaging with families with teenages. Comparing the ages of 12-16 years and what their life would have been like in the early settlement in Sydney. I've walked around The Rocks on many occasions but The Historical Tour was worth the money and time. Only wished it could have been longer 😊
Excellent tour 👏 fantastic guide Michael was very helpful and knowledgeable well worth it 👌 easy walking tour 🚶♀️
Michael was an excellent and informative guide who brought The Rocks' history to life. The walk was easy for all ages, and the time passed quickly.
It being our last day in Sydney, carrying around our luggage on a walk would have been a bit tedious. Brian (& Michael) were very accomodating and stored our luggage in their office. Brian was our tour guide for the day, and we thoroughly enjoyed the knowledge he spat out with such ease. Lots of witty jokes for both adults & children were made along the way. Brian was full of passion and happily answered any questions we had. If you ever thought of history being boring, give this tour a try! I’m sure it’d change your mind. Would 100% recommend to anyone visiting Sydney. Thanks for the lovely experience! Mike & Lejani
Excellent guided tour; the walk is gentle and the content relevant and interesting, bringing The Rocks area alive.
The walking tour was fantastic. Incredible attention to detail. Micheal was a fantastic guide and focused a lot on our Irish heritage. Could not recommend the tour more. Great value for the experience.
Have wandered around The Rocks before but Michael bought the area alive with his excellent commentary.
Our guide Michael was excellent, knowledgeble and friendly. The Rocks is full of little surprises both old and new.
Michael was an excellent tour guide. As someone who’s been to Sydney a few times, I had never been to the rocks and didn’t know the first thing about it’s history. Very enjoyable and informational. We used our go city passes and it was really easy to book. Again, Michael really knew his stuff and was very warm and welcoming.
My wife and I were the only people on this tour and it was thoroughly enjoyable. Our tour guide Michael took us through the various places of historical importance in Colonial Sydney looking at the various styles of architecture but also the people who lives impacted these early years. Michael's knowledge of The Rocks area made you appreciate what you were seeing and understand why people fought so hard to keep these old buildings standing to be enjoyed by future generations. Every city has a past and Sydney is no exception. The tour ended in the heart of The Rocks amongst all the restaurants, cafes and pubs at lunchtime to tempt you more to stay in The Rocks just that little bit longer. The tour left you wanting to see more and to come back again. Thank you Michael and Theresa.
Wonderful tour. Perfect pace and full of interesting info to engage everyone of all ages. Relaxed and friendly with plenty of time to ask questions. Vickie was a wonderful, friendly host who demonstrated her deep knowledge at every step of the way. We learnt so much, despite having visited the rocks many time.
Thank you Firoella for all your wonderful help in getting our seniors onto the modified walking tour for seniors. Being able to use the bus as part of the tour made it much more practical and thank you for meeting us at the bus drop off zone in the morning. Unfortunately it was still too much for our clients with walkers, So next time we will bring independent walkers only or do a bus only tour. Everyone had a lovely time and enjoyed the history shown and discussed by the guide.
This is a must do, even if you, like my husband & I, along with another couple, were born & bred in Sydney. We went to quaint little hidden places, we never knew were there. Michael, our tour guide, knows everything there is to know about the history of The Rocks & tells some amazing stories of life in the early years. Do yourself a favour & book this tour, next time you are in Sydney. You will not be disappointed!
The tour was interesting and very engaging. Our tour guide Michael was very knowledgeable and clear to understand. He had a wealth of knowledge and was more than happy to have a yarn as well. We had less knowledgeable members of the group and more informed members and Michael did a great job of catering to everyones level. I would recommend this tour to all types of people. Thanks for a lovely day Michael.
The walking tour was great with michael. He covered so much detail and managed to cover all our bizarre questions. It was extremely engaging but also still managed to have a chat. Would recommend! We did the tour with friends ranging from 23-27 and we loved it.
Fantastic tour! Our guide, Michael, was excellent. I have a history degree and have studied the history of early colonial Sydney, but I still learned a lot of new information on this tour. I was lucky to be one of only three people on my tour. Highly recommended - thanks Michael!
Our tour group had a very interesting and informative outing with Brian. As we are from an Historical Society and we really enjoyed his depth of historical knowledge about the Rocks - plus his sense of humour! We all commented afterwards on how much we learnt about the area, and we would certainly recommend the walking tour to others.
A must-do if you are in Sydney! Michael was fantastic, it was a very interesting experience, and I could absorb so much of history, cultural heritage, hidden alleyways, architecture gems. During the tour, Michael showed me a few pictures of spots we were walking so I definitely could imagine how streets and buildings looked like back to old times. I would highly recommend to anyone! Book it straight away!
We found a genuinely knowledgeable and interested/interesting guide in Michael. Family with young kids and the 9 year old really enjoyed it. Sydney history is fascinating! I would book now while Sydney is quiet- having a small group is a great bonus.
Today our small group entered into a patchy day of rain. Michael our tour guide was amazing and had many wonderful history talks on our journey today. Michael is so good at keeping the group together, and we engaged with the history and stories of the past. Well done Michael.. Very well organised and i would definitely recommend this tour, to many people looking for a easy morning walk with a team of the passionate tour guides. Passionate and interesting history stores for all ages of The Rocks history. 👏🌟👍
Fantastic! Michael Collins was awesome - very knowledgeable and witty and answered all my questions. A fantastic way to appreciate the history of this beautiful place and you end up at a lovely Italian restaurant (not included in tour!). Really worthwhile.
