Discover the hills that have been alive to the Sound of Music since 1967. This 4-hour tour of the famous movie’s locations whisks you around the historical city of Salzburg, then departs for the breathtaking mountainous landscape of Salzkammergut. Traveling with, Albus, the company involved with the original filming, you will be guided around The Mirabell Gardens – where the famous “Do-Re-Mi” singing scene took place – and the 17th-Century Hellbrunn Palace, where Rolf and Liesl sang "16 going on 17," and Maria and the Baron sang “Something Good.” Heading for the mountainous landscape of Salzkammergut, you will stop off at the idyllic Palace of Leopoldskron, the Benedictine monastery of Nonnberg Abbey, Lake Wolfgang, and the cloister church in Mondsee, where Maria walked down the aisle to meet the Baron at the altar. As well as providing a glimpse into a timeless movie, the tour also takes in many other local pieces of history and culture along the way.

As it was quiet a rainy day, it was nice to travel in the minibus with a knowledgeable guide! Lots of information not only about TSOM but also about Austria and the Von Trapp family.
Our guide was excellent but I would be wary that the meeting point on the email is NOT where we were to meet it was a 3 minute walk across the road which is NOT clear. Would like to have stopped at a couple more of the points on the drive for picture opportunities.
This tour will give you a good orientation to the city and surrounding area. If you watched the Sound of Music as a child you get to relive the memories on site. It is a great tour if you are in the city for a short while.
The guide and driver made the experience great
Great tour. Very good guide. Worth every penny.
Okay, I was expecting a cheesy tour, but was I ever wrong. I’ve loved “The Sound of Music” since it came out in 1965. But I learned so much about the movie that I had no idea about. This tour was amazing and we really saw a lot of the places where they filmed. I’ve been to Salzburg many times over the years and never took this tour, but I’m so glad I did this time. Anyone who enjoyed the movie should take this tour—it was really wonderful! You’ll see the movie again with new eyes.
An excellent tour and certainly recommended for those who love Salzburg and the Sound of Music!
Our guide, Peter, was absolutely delightful and so knowledgeable. He went above and beyond, playing excerpts from the movie that he had put together so that we could relate to what we were seeing. It was organized, not rushed and really just a wonderful day. We usually don’t do tours and have to say it was one of the best memories from our two week trip in Central Europe. Also a shout out to our great drive Evo! (Not sure I spelled that correctly) have his hot spiced wine, better than the market.
If you get a good group of people you will love this trip We booked this trip through get your guide and was advised the meeting place was the bus stop- please not this is incorrect it’s where the paramount tour stand is
Apesar do tempo nublado, a excursão fou maravilhosa. Nossa guia “April” era super simpática e animada!! Valeu muito a pena!!
Anne-Marie was the perfect host. The tour was fun, the kids loved it, and she was funny and kind. Would recommend!
The guide, Antonio, was just great. The tour itself was so awesome. The scenery was spectacular and the driver of the bus was very safe.
The Sound of Music Tour was good, but the instruction's as to where to meet on the get your guide app! I looked up the map on the app an hour before we were supposed to meet the guide to be sure I was on time. Then when we arrived 20 minutes before at the meeting point located on the map on the Get your guide app, no guide was there. After asking several people, speaking to get your guide on whatsapp, attempting to contact guide by mobile phone, we were informed tours leave from a meeting point that was at least 500 meters and across 2 streets from where the app indicated! It was very stressful and we only just managed to find the tour and get on the bus in time! So please update your meeting point on the app to be correct!! The tour was probably a little too long. The last 30mins to 1 hour we were left to browse the shops surrounding the Church that we couldn't go into. We would've preferred to end tour earlier.
Everything I hoped for. Peter, our guide, was fabulous and very entertaining. Loved the scenery as we went. Awesome DVD, I so have to watch the movie again ... and again! My husband, who is SO not a Sound of Music fan loved this tour due to the awesome scenery and guide. Now he wants to watch the movie!!!
Very good to do this tour, as you cannot go to all the places by yourself. And safe when you join a tour
Loved the scenery, everything was on time and as promised in there advertisement, And so much fun for everyone on the bus. If you are a sound of music fan, do not miss this tour.
This is a wonderful tour that not only shows you the local area sights but also takes you up into some beautiful mountain regions. Our guide David and driver Ferdinand were fantastic and lively. We had such a great time and would definitely recommend this tour to anyone looking for a great time exploring and getting some wonderful history on this classic!
Fun for hours for folks who love the movie. Our guide April had great energy and was very entertaining
Really excellent tour with an amazing guide David lots of fun and laughter amazing sites great bus and driver around the city and especially out of the hills in the lakes !! Stunningly beautiful !!
The tour was pleasant and enjoyable. However, one must be careful to take note of the street surroundings while walking to the church in Mondsee, since we got lost on the way back to the bus and missed our ride back. There are no signs or street marking to indicate the way to the bus parking lot. It cost us an hour and a half and 15 Euros to take the city bus back to Salzburg. But it didn't affect our day and is now one of our memories of our travels.
My wife and I thoroughly enjoyed ourselves. Our guide, Bridget and driver, Abi were great! Very informative and safe respectively.
