The elevators of Lisbon

We begin our tour with the elevator da Bica inaugurated in 1892 that was used by workers and fishing women from the Ribeira Market. With 283 meters long it will drive us to the Bairro Alto (upper town), the favorite quarter for night life, being the Largo do Camões the meeting point among the locals to start the night program. The next photo stop for one of the best view over down town will be at the Elevador Santa Justa, this one a real vertical elevator!

After visiting** the S. Roque church** with its st. John the Baptist chapel a baroque masterpiece, we stop for a picture at the nice point of view S. Pedro de Alcantâra before taking a ride with the next cable car - Elevator da Glória. Down the hill we reach the Praça dos Restauradores already in downtown.

We had a very great tour with Ms Mendes. She is very kind, competent, humorous and reliable. I also want to mention the bus operatior "Blue Travel". We had a new, very comfortable van for 16 people and a very great bus driver - who drove us around for 10 hours very relaxed and safe - so thank you again.
