Small-Group Tour: Pompeii and Naples from Rome with Lunch in a Biologic Farm
Overview
A great full day excursion of the ancient archaeological site of Pompeii and suggestive Naples, both UNESCO World Heritage Sites. Travel in a small group of no more than 6 people with an English-speaking tour-assistant in an air-conditioned minivan. Departure from Rome, with one break along the freeway for a mid-morning breakfast or snack. First stop will be at the Pompeii archeological site where your professional guide it will show the highlights of this intact ancient Roman city. You will visit the main areas of Pompeii, like the Macellum (food market), the Thermal Baths, the areas where the Romans would gather to have dinner and wine as well as the homes of wealthy citizens, where you will learn about their customs and traditions. Lunch and tasting of local products in a biologic farm. In the afternoon visit of the wonderful Bay of Naples, where you can admire the beautiful gulf, a walk in the Naples center and taste a good typical Neapolitan coffee. Then departure to Rome.

Pompeii where an official guide will take you on a walking tour of the remarkably intact city. Buried by lava and ash when Mount Vesuvius erupted in 79 AD, Pompeii was lost for hundreds of years, until its partial rediscovery in 1599. Marvel at the homes, shops, public baths and hear the story of how the city was lost due to the violence of the volcano.

This was one of the best experiences of our stay in Italy. Note: Very little time is spent in Naples but it was worth the stop.randy_r

Nice tour. Pompeii was awesome. The van was very comfortable and the guide and driver were super friendly. The Naples portion was a bit lacking compared to the other parts. Of course they are limited on time for a long drive. Still a definite recommend from us.
