After lovely day of touring Halong bay, our bus dropped us at the hotel. While the bus was departing, we realized that we left our credit card in the bus (I know, very foolish of us). With the help of our friendly receptionist at Golden Hanoi Hotel, we got through with the Charming Vietnam Travel’s office. As we were explaining the situation, they hung up on us and wouldn’t answer our calls for entirety of the evening. Worrying cardiac arrest, we decided to go to their office and check on them. When we reached, we realized they just closed shop, therefore not answering the calls. First thing in the next morning, we called them to see if they’d pick up this time. Luckily they picked up and said they would let us see if the card is still in the bus, if we’d come around their office at 8:30pm. Okay we said and proceeded to show up at their office at 8:30pm sharp just to find them closed AGAIN. Since we didn’t have local SIM card, we had to scrum back to our hotel and call them. Upon happily confirming that they are truly closed for the day, fine people at Charming Vietnam Travel informed that the bus won’t be back for another FIVE days. Thus destroying any chance that I might see my card ever again. Thanks to Charming Vietnam Travel’s support and courtesy, we got to have a nice conversation with our friends and family asking for money, while convincing them that it is actually us speaking to them.It was unbelievable how much we got done in one day. The drive to take us there was 4 hours and on the way back we chipped in to take the express way which cut the time in almost half, so that was a bonus. It was all worth it, the lunch was quite good for this type of group tours. The people on the boat very kind and polite. But definetly the view and the activities make it worth it. Out guide, T, was very well organized, alwaya smiling, very positive attitude throughout the day. He was very informative and his English, one of the best I heard in Vietnam. Congrats T. and thank you!We booked this tour from Klook. The price is reasonable and the tour guide was very helpful. We visited the Thien Cung Cave and also had a bamboo boat trip on Halong Bay. The views are stunning. You should not miss these places if you are in Hanoi. This tour company is highly recommended.

What a beautiful and breathtaking way to start our 3-week tour of South East Asia! The early start to a long day and drive were certainly well worth it - the boat ride to the caves was interesting and the local lunch was delicious, the caves and the bay were picturesque and spectacular, felt almost like a gondola ride in Venice as our driver sang when going under the overpass and the kayaking was great fun and exercise (those muscles were dormant too long...lol). Weather was brilliant all day!
