I had the best day on my Cacao tour with Mario. He customized my tour to make sure he would take me to places of my interest as well as what was planned (we went to a plant nursery so I could see local species as well). He is a very hands on and professional guide involved in making sure you have a great experience. As a solo traveller I felt very safe regarding social distancing etc. I would recommend Mario and and any of his tours for people looking for an inclusive adventure while still wanting to see the sights and stay safe. The farm itself was a lovely experience. You get to have a part in every stop of the chocolate-making process. There are other fruit trees and crops to see. Many things to experience in one day!
a very nice day! Mario is a super kind guide that love his job and his country. he let me appreciate the city of guayaquil and discover a part of local life. the visit of the farm was fantastic: I discover and learn a lot of things about cacao and chocolate. the place is something special too. in the afternoon I discover Guayaquil : the colors of the city and the most beautiful places are so good ! (I started with a negative feeling about that city, but now I’m happy to have totally changed my opinions!). I absolutely recommande this tour!
Very good one day tour and guide
Got to make my own chocolate. I would highly recommend this tour. Includes both city and countryside
Mario was a pleasant and informative guide who kept me engaged during the whole tour. I recommend his services.
This was a great full-day tour with lunch. Very educational. We toured a small Cocoa farm, learned about picking Cocoa, drying and roasting cocoa beans. We made our own chocolate by grinding beans. We also had lunch at the farm. We also toured some highlights of the city of Guayaquil—a beautiful seaport city. Highly recommend
This was a really fun day trip! Mario is an excellent guide: professional, friendly, knowledgeable, funny, and accommodating. This excursion was a highlight from our time in Guayaquil!
We had a great time with Ninfa and Lewis. Ninfa’s genuine enthusiasm and knowledge made for a perfect day.
My tour with Mario was great! He customized it just for me when he found out my interests. The cacao farm was beautiful and I would recommend eating their amazing food for lunch. Mario is a very thoughtful tour guide who will go the extra mile for you to enjoy your trip. Thank you!
We had a beautiful day with our guide Mario. He speaks perfect English and is very professional and he when above and beyond to make sure tour when well, and he has the ability to make everyone feel at easy on the tour. We highly recommend him as a tour guide. Gracias Mario la familia Howard. 2/2018.
Mario's an excellent guide and storyteller and led us on a great tour of the cacao farm/ city. He shared funny anecdotes while showing us around. Later we learned to process cocoa, from bean, to raw cacao we made an exquisite ancestral drink reminiscent of hot chocolate. Highlight of my trip to Ecuador!
As a single women traveling alone I wasn't sure what to expect. I meet Mario at my hotel and right off the bat I knew this was going to be a phenomenal experience he was warm and welcoming. He had me sit in the front row and we talked about his country and its history, it was wonderful. At the farm he was well versed in the history of the family and the farm, touring the farm he knew all about the various plants and talked about the growing season and how self sustain the farm was . The food presentation at the farm was exceptional and delicious, roasting and making the cocoa for the hot chocolate was a blast.I would recommend this to anyone and everyone looking for a local experience and having a guide like Mario only would add to the experience. Thank you again Mario for a wonderful time.
I had a wonderful time. I am traveling alone for work and needed something to do. This trip can be a one person trip. Mario was an excellent guide. The food at the farm was excellent. Highly recommend. Thanks Mario.
We had an amazing time with Toño!!!! We learned so much, made our own cocoa and had an amazing lunch on the farm! We got to see the town and go into the market. Don't skip this one and ask for Toño!!!!
Mario is the best tour guide I have ever had. Very professional, friendly and knowledgeable. He speaks perfect English which was very helpful to me because my Spanish is admittedly not so great I am learning. Mario obviously loves Ecuador and his home city of Guayaquil, because he explains things in a way that conveys enthusiasm, pride and sincerity. This particular tour helped me understand exactly how chocolate is produced by touring a family farm and seeing how the entire process works. I even got some hands on experience by helping to prepare the chocolate for our dessert. It was unforgettable! Also, Mario gave me a great introduction to the city of Guayaquil as we toured many of the highlights in the downtown area. Finally, he provided me with some excellent suggestions for what to do on my own in Guayaquil the following day. In summary, Mario went above and beyond my expectations. I highly recommend booking a tour with him. You will be glad you did!
