Sillar Route in Arequipa and viewpoint of the Volcanoes
Overview
It has the necessary infrastructure and tourist services such as interpretation workshops, with the presence of sillar cutters; information panel areas; tourist signage; parking lot; Purchase of handicrafts in sillar and rest areas.
The sillar route is managed by the Sillar Cutters Network - Arequipa. It currently comprises a length of 2, 000 meters, covering the quarries in operation of Añashuayco, Cortadores and the virgin quarry of Culebrillas.

Stop At: Canteras de sillar Añashuayco, J9RR+4G3, Cerro Colorado 04017, Peru
You can see the murals where the ashlar is carved in an artisanal way, also the routine performed by the workers in the area.
You will also know the shingles cannon, a small pink ashlar cannon, formed naturally.

Stop At: Canteras de Sillar, Quebrada de Anashuayco, Arequipa Peru
Las quarries, a protected natural area since today, is an attractive place to appreciate the origin of the ashlar, volcanic stone characteristic of Arequipa.

Stop At: Ruta Del Sillar, Canteras de anashuayco, cerro colorado, Arequipa 04017 Peru
It allows to know the origin of the ashlar, representative stone of what most of the constructions of the historical center of the city are made.
The impressive stone carvings, the shingles road, where a small pink ashlar canyon is formed, natural area, ideal for taking photos and knowing the most remote origin, this area is completely virgin and protected, and you can not do work to your surroundings.
After that they will return to the city center where they will contrast observing the great ashlar constructions made from ancient times.

L’activité était bien, nous avons vu la route du sillar mais nous devons payer à chaque arrêt pour regarder les roches. Le guide fermait les fenêtres du bus et il faisait chaud. Une autre voyageuse a fait une crise pour une histoire de sièges… vraiment désagréable ...
