What to expect
During the 1800's, the Ozark hills were wild and untamed. Crime was rampant and law enforcement had a difficult time. Eventually, a group formed to help law-abiding citizens. Soon enough, this group became so powerful they were bending the laws for their own gain and they became worse than the criminals they originally formed to fight against.
This two-hour long production features a shoot-out, the actual burning of a log cabin, a mystery, a love story, and a moral message that is as true today as it was a century ago.
You will be introduced to fascinating characters as they arrive on wagons or horseback including the pillar of the community, Old Matt as well his son, Young Matt. Other characters include beautiful Sammy Lane, villain Wash Gibbs, the mysterious Shepherd, and the vigilante Baldknobber gang.

After the show we was waiting on tram but they kept letting others pile in front of all that was standing waiting already. NO ORGANIZATION, At ALL!!!! Ended up having to walk back up stairs. Beware if you can’t do stairs or have asthma.Quite possibly the worst experience I’ve ever had. Quite possibly the worst experience I’ve ever had. From the horribly worded website thinking we had dinner and show tickets (no dinner) to the “meal” we experienced in the restaurant I don’t think one star is even worth it. The restaurant informed us upon walking in all the kitchen staff was new and it would be buffet only. Since we had no other choice we stayed. We now wish we had opted for hot dogs and popcorn at the show because I’m pretty sure dirt would have been better than the food they served at this ridiculously overpriced buffet. $56 for 3 for what I can only describe as slop on a plate. They should be ashamed. The show (not handicapped accessible btw) was the worst thing I’ve ever seen and I’ve seen a lot of Branson shows. The only excitement was a few fake gunshots but the acting was not even exaggerated for effect. Just mundane. I’m guessing staff didn’t want to be there either. I would never recommend this place and I hope you don’t waste your money like we did! This show is simply wonderful. The preshow is very moving. This show is simply wonderful. The preshow is very moving. The outdoor drama is very well played by very talented actors well suited for their role. Settings, props, animal actors, human actors, knitted this story into a beautiful act. Intrigue, suspense, drama, redemption, and love story - its all here. The barn catching fire, while planned, was rather surreal. Facility is easily accessible with ample parking and ADA friendly. The parking shuttle makes easy work of getting in and out. Dont forget to stop at the ice cream shop. The restaurant also serves a meal with sitting down for. The popcorn at intermission made the last half even better for me.The story was very good, and the sincerity of the performers was excellent. My only suggestion for improvement would be the lighting. I would like to be able to see the faces and expressions of the performers better. I sat in the fifth row.

I’m sorry to say we were disappointed. We ended up leaving during the break. Since everything was just in one setting, it just seemed very long and drawn out. I believe there could have been more action to ooh and ahh the crowds. It was hard to follow the storyline. On top of that the seating was quite uncomfortable. For a show that has been going on for so many years, we just expected that they would have put more laughs, more action, more to keep the crowd lively.
