This river is considered a Natural Monument of Costa Rica due to its nature and cultural history. The 3, 739-hectare La Selva Biological Station is located in this region, one of the three most important neotropical ecological research and conservation stations in Costa Rica, owned by the Organization for Tropical Studies.

What to expect
The Sarapiqui rapids are the best option for adventure junkies who want to enjoy some challenging rapids with diversity of obstáculos and big splashing waves. Our professional guides, will guide you safely on a raft for 6 people over more than 30 rapids by 2 hours of emotions and adrenaline. Guides will ask you to paddle hard and do a good teamwork. This combination of sport, nature and adrenaline makes this tour an outstanding adventure.
Safety measures: safety kayaker, profesional & bilingual guides, personal flotation device, helmet, paddle and a safety speech for instructions.
INCLUDES: fruit on the river ,towels, water and a delicious Costa Rican lunch "Casado" and PURA VIDA time.
DEPARTS: every day at 08:30 until 14:30
WHAT TO BRING: Changing clothes, clothes to get wet, tennis shoes or water shoes.

We had booked Arenal Rafting for our Costa Rica trip as one of the activities. Unfortunately due to a sick child, we decided to cancel just this activity and as per their guidelines, we called well in advance of their 48 hour deadline for a full refund. However when my wife spoke with Arenal Rafting, they said that the refund procedure is to call our credit card company and dispute the transaction. Even though the credit card company reached out to Arenal Rafting multiple times, they never corresponded with them and the credit card company had to eventually write off the transaction. This is classic credit card fraud. Even though we got our 300 dollars credited back, I would not trust a fraudulent operation like Arenal RaftingIt was a blast. The guides where fantastic. Juan gave us a ride we will never forget. He was an amazing tour guide.
