Stop At: Santorini, Santorini, Cyclades, South Aegean
Visit the oldest Byzantine church of the island, built in 1115, from the ruins of a 6th century church. Its interior is decorated with wall-paintings and it is consider to be one of the most historical monuments. Mesa Gonia village is the next stop which is considered to be the center of Santorinian wine production. Mesa Gonia, is the only village that wasn’t restored since the great earthquake of 1956, and this will give you a unique opportunity to see how was life there before this dramatic event. Next, discover Pyrgos village, one of the most picturesque villages of the island. Pyrgos used to be the capital of Santorini, now you will have the chance to visit Skaros ( the ruins of the medieval capital), stroll around the village and take pictures of its beautiful churches, and enjoy a magnificent view of the island, once you reach the top of the village. Last stop, is Oia village, located at the western part of the island with the most famous sunset and an architecture that reminds that Oia was once a thriving village built from captains and sailors.

Nice villages to pass by, the tour guide was very well trained and explain everything, the sunset is amazing but be on the sunset boulevard 1-2h before and if you can,go to a terrace (but they are very expensive)

’ve been to Santorini ten times and I’ve had wonderful experiences with hotels, trips, tours, shops, wineries, ferries, restaurants, car rentals and people! II booked several things through the Viator app with great success, but a tour I booked with Cretan Holidays tours was a very bad experience. Please avoid booking with them and save yourself the trouble! They never picked me up for the tour I booked and even after contacting them they made no attempt to help, pick me up, credit or refund the tour. I wouldn’t want this to happen to someone else. Their tour on the Viator app was called “Santorini Traditional Villages and Oia Sunset Tour.” I don’t recommend. On the other hand a tour I booked with Luxury travel was fantastic!Came on a Marella cruise tour, Kia is a beautiful place but get there early or late it gets packed, there are people everywhere trying to get the best photos, however it is worth it this place is stunning, but expensive, come and see although it is not really for the less mobile

The tour is off beaten trucks, our guide Tanja is the best! Very deep knowledge of history of the region, traditions and culture of Santorini, she was. brilliant! Now about the description of the tour on Viator.com site- it is simply not true and very misleading! First of all this is a bus tour, not a small group minivan tour! Secondary- the tour is NOT SUITABLE FOR PEOPLE USING A STROLLER!!!!! Not at all!!! The website says it is suitable! We were in a deep trouble and only could manage the trip with the help from the people of the group , Tanja and our drivers! And I want to say a big big thank you to them all!I booked this tour to see a it more of Santorini and as a means to get to Oia. The tour was well organised. I booked this tour to see a it more of Santorini and as a means to get to Oia. The tour was well organised. Bus driver was great and Anna our guide was informative and very thoughtful preparing the group as to what to expect and do/not to do. Basically the tour is a short visit to a Byzantine church which was very pretty, a visit to the village which was wrecked in the 1956 earthquake, a climb to the top at Pyros and then to Oia where you spend most of your time and see the sunset. I had time to take photos, enjoy a meal overlooking the water and make it to a point to wait for the sunset 40 mins before. Be warned it is crazy crowded. I saw the sun almost set but when the tidal wave of people came I made my way back to the bus. By the way you can see the sunset from near the bus parking lot! We were delayed leaving by half an hour as another bus from the tour company was late to pick up people going to another destination. I was impressed with the driver and guide. They took others on our bus and made sure the other group's bus arrived before we left so everyone got back to departure points. Well done Kamari tours. Would I take this tour again- yes, excellent for the price.
