Can’t wait to have fun in the outdoors ofLima? There is not best way to enjoy our deserts than sliding down on a sandboard and crossing the dune fields with a 4×4 vehicle. If you don’t have any previous experience, don’t even worry about it, your instructors would teach you from scratch. Your will experience the last preserved desert of Lima in Lomas de Ancon. Suitable for anyone skill level.

What to expect
Itinerary
This is a typical itinerary for this product
Pass By: Lima, Lima, Lima Region
Our pilot will pick you up and take you over lima downtown while you see the layout of the city and the different neighboohoods
Pass By: Jorge Chavez International Airport, Av. Elmer Faucett s/n, Callao 07031, Peru
You will get passed near the airport in Callao District, if you need a drop off or pick up here, just let us know.
Stop At: Muelle de Ancon, Malecon Ferreyros, Lima 15123 Peru
You will get to our office in Ancon District, a fisher´s town near the desert, where your instructor will make sure you get your right equipment for the fun times.
Duration: 15 minutes
Stop At: Zona Reservada Lomas de Ancón, Ave Julio C. Tello 38881, Ancón 15123, Peru
We will get on the panamerican highway and go to the desert passing for a unique ecosistem and habitad of Lima´s coast, "the lomas" a green garden on the winters and dry land n the summer" from there we will cross to the desert
Duration: 10 minutes
Stop At: Zona Reservada Lomas de Ancón, Ave Julio C. Tello 38881, Ancón 15123, Peru
We will get to the desert and start our sandy lesson, the instructor will teach you anything you need from equipment, stance, how to break, and will train you in a bunny heel. After that you will be ready to roll down the dunes until the truck that will lift us back up again, At a point we will head to a big soft dune to discover Lima´s hidden desert views

After our picture session, follow up camera while riding, views of the desert scenery, we will return to the office in Ancon and from there to Lima

This was an awesome experience. Aldo was a great instructor and host and really made the whole experience special for my wife and I. This was an awesome experience. Aldo was a great instructor and host and really made the whole experience special for my wife and I. We got picked up on time, got to see a lot of cool sights on our way to the dunes, and really got comfortable with the crew before we even put any gear on. The sandboarding itself is a lot like snowboarding so you can pick it up quickly with the great tips from Aldo. The views make you feel like you’re on a different planet, it was awesome when you could see for miles in every direction and you’re the only people out there. If you are an adventure seeker you MUST do this activity. Don’t book with anyone else or you’ll just be crowded with 50 other people on a little dune. Desert Expeditions will make it an unforgettable experience for anyone that goes! Highly recommendedAaron C

The instructor Aldo was excellent. I don't remember the names of the other instructor, but they were all friendly and great teachers. Aldo is an incredible photographer and it didn't cost anything extra to get the videos and photos.

Been sand boarding for the first time. Aldo, the instructor and Carlos the driver are both friendly, great fun and pretty much fluent in English. Had great local breakfast before and ice cream after. Ask Carlos to give a quick 4X4 experience at the dunes, he will turn the car into a mini rollerco...

Aldo and Carlos were brilliant guides - they picked us up outside our accommodation and took us to sample some amazing local snacks before off-roading up the dunes (Carlos is a master of this!) and starting the boarding. Aldo gave us clear, useful instructions to make sure we each got the most out of the trip and looked after us all. Flying downhill in the beautiful dunes is a unique experience and has been by far our highlight of Lima - don't miss out!Aimee W

I don’t normally write reviews that often but the service which Aldo, Rolando and Ivan provided was exceptional. Aldo was the main contact, his English is outstanding and he has all the information and coaching techniques you’d need to go from a complete novice to boarding dunes comparable to blue/black runs in a matter of hours. He’s funny, caring, and really wants you to get the most out of the adventure. Rolando was learning how to coach in our lesson, he’s great and always on hand to help, the majority of the time he was completing demonstrations of what we had to do and filming our runs with a GoPro which you get a copy of at a later date. Ivan is the pilot, he is quite literally one of the best drivers I’ve seen, driving through/on sand dunes is difficult and technical but he did it with ease. While all the time we felt safe and having a blast. All in all, I feel you would be missing out on a great experience if you decided not to do this if you have time in Lima. Definitely a highlight and an experience of a lifetime.
