We were visiting San Francisco for just a few days and were curios to find out more about LGBTQ history in the city, in particular the Castro district, so famous for queer culture. We met up easily with Kathy and the small group we would walk with and we were honestly blown away by the tour. Kathy is so passionate and knowledgeable about the history of the community we learnt so much. And being a small group we all got to share our own stories (the group members that day were from all over the world). Getting a chance to see a part of the original quilt from the AIDS epidemic, and many other significant sights, was quite moving. Highly recommend this tour to any visitor wanting to learn and grow as an individual! 10/10

Excellent tour. Really informative and emotional at times. Definitely worth it and would recommend to anyone wanting to learn about San Francisco’s LGBT history, dating back to the Gold Rush of the 1800’s!

Great tour of the Castro and all it's history! Kathy did an amazing job of bringing the history, culture and biology of the LGBTQ+ community. A very pleasant stroll through the neighborhood highlighted by Harvey Milk and other community contributions. Definitely recommend!

I had an absolute ball with Kathy who provides an informative talk and tour of the Castro district. She is highly involved with the community and welcomes conversation with guests. If you are a touchy conservative, this tour might not be for you, but if you want to learn about the largest LGBTQ+ community in the USA (maybe the world?), this is a great tour to take!

We came to San Francisco during Pride Month to celebrate my fiancé's graduation and because I have always wanted to visit the Castro. We booked this tour last minute as our first excursion of the trip, and it was absolutely phenomenal. We came on the tour with two of our older lesbian friends, and each of us took something different away from this tour. Kathy was so knowledgeable and funny. I would recommend this to anyone interested in LGBT history or wanting to learn more about America's first gayborhood. Kathy also gives out coupons to the GLBT History Museum, which was a great perk since it was on our to-do list! We went the following day and had a great time.

We were very satisfied by this tour. Kathy (the guide) manage the sense of entertaining with a hint of irony. The tour's content was highly relevant.

Kathy was a wonderful tour guide and historian of the Castro neighborhood. So much history went on here that you probably aren't aware of. It isn't just a neighborhood tour, its a walking history tour.

The tour covered a bit of everything. The tour guide made you care about queer history. This was the second time I took the tour (last time was 14 years ago) and it was cool to see the changes to the community, like the placards in the sidewalk about historical queer people. Very much recommend!

Kathy was an amazing guide and this tour was fantastic. She was so knowledgeable and is very involved in the community so she could add a more personal perspective. She was kind, compassionate, intelligent, and funny. She was super generous with her time and made an effort to get to know everyone on the tour. Our teenager loved it as well and was super engaged and left feeling inspired. Truly a great experience and we’d do it again.

It was a good tour size with only 6 people in the group on this occasion. Kathy is a great tour guide and gives lots of context as to how the community in the Castro was born and the state of the nation today. There was lots of opportunity to ask questions and she also invited group members to share their experiences with the group should they wish. It's was a nice mix of history and what's going on in the community today and would highly recommend this tour to anyone be them American or otherwise.

Even though we endured what was easily the rainiest, wettest day of 2022, Kathy worked hard to make sure each of us felt included. I came with my 9yo, 11yo, and husband. We had a great time learning about the neighborhood and my 11yo especially enjoyed hearing about Harvey Milk. There was something for everyone! We got a terrific education. Thank you, Kathy!

Kathy was awesome! Even as a resident of the Castro for many years, I learned new things about our history, found new hidden gems, spots, and stories, and had a great time with the group.

The tour guide Kathy was very welcoming and had a lovely way with her. She explained clearly the significance of features and figures from the Castro district and handled often difficult subjects sensitively. The tour is obviously an LGBT+ themed tour but there was a good mix of local and regional issues as well as historical context and contemporary themes. The stops were wide ranging and interesting and it’s a very diverse narrative. I highly recommend it.

Kathy is one of the most engaging guides I've experienced. She's been doing this for a while and she really knows her stuff. She's full of great stories, neighbourhood information and LGBTQ history. I've been to SF a few times and I've never known some of the history we learned about. A terrific introduction to the Castro. Highly recommended.
