Visit the hometown of Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart on a full-day tour from Munich. Travel by train and in the imperial city, visit his place of birth (optional), his residence, the streets he walked, and the cafés he drank in. Salzburg is also one of the most popular set-jetting destinations in the world for one simple reason, “The Sound of Music.” Visit sites you will remember from the silver screen such as the beautiful Mirabelle Gardens where Julie Andrews and the children were filmed singing “Do-Re-Mi.” An expert guide will take you on a 2-hour train ride from Munich to Austria. You will be provided with a map and get a 1.5-hour orientation tour through the major sites. Explore one of the finest preserved medieval old towns in Europe, crisscrossed with romantic winding shopping streets and venerable market places adorned with outstanding architectural monuments of the later baroque era. See piazzas and fountains, the stunning Domkirche Cathedral, pleasure gardens, palaces, and churches, monasteries and catacombs, and confectionaries and patisseries. You will also go to the oldest restaurant on the continent. You will then have 3 hours to explore the city for yourself, before meeting up for the return journey. During your free time, you can visit the breathtaking 900-year-old fortress Festung Hohensalzburg, the magnificent edifice that dominates the city's skyline, itself framed by the spectacular encirclement of mountains stretching into the horizon.
• You must bring your passport because while passport checks on trains from Germany to Austria are not common they can sometimes happen
Great opportunity to discover one of the most beautiful Austrian city when you visiting Munich.
Maxine was a really great guide. We enjoyed both the guided tour and the free time to explore the old centre of Salzburg. We had a delicious meal at the beautiful restaurant Maxine recommended. Highly recommendrd tour!
Perfect organization, nice guide
Paul was absolutely wonderful. He had so much information for us and was absolutely amazing at sharing the history of Salzburg. He even offered his help during the rest of our stay in Munich. This trip is a must do!
We had a group of 10 people with an excellent tour guide, Maxine. She was extremely friendly and knowledgeable. She showed us photos on her iPad to explain different locations as well as screenshots from the Sound of Music where we were standing. It was an easy train ride to Salzburg and then we had a quick walking tour with the guide and the afternoon to explore on our own.
Our guide Paul kept us all together and on time. He did an overview walk-through of Salzburg and then turned us loose so we could explore on our own for 3 to 4 hours. It was the perfect amount of time for getting a taste of Salzburg. Paul is the best.
Excelente.
Hyggelig tur for oss voksne.
it was excellent because of the susan our tour guide
Maxine was such a great guide! She is so knowledgeable about Salzburg history and took us to a bunch of cool spots. Our first visit to Salzburg would not have been as great without her. The day trip went by super fast for being a 9-10 hour journey. I definitely recommend this trip to other travelers!
It's a great trip. Salzburg is a beautiful place.

très bonne organisation et guide expérimentée
Not worth of your time!!
Tour molto bello. Il ristorante dove ci ha portato la guida era bello ma prezzi esagerati. Per farci un’idea, un secondo di carne 27 euro
The tour guide Tom was outstanding, full of great historical knowledge
Guide Maxine was absolutely terrific. Very knowledgeable and brought lots of pictorial aids.
Sabina was a really unformed guide the city is beautiful and so much to see there we decided we will go back
It was an amazing tour, comprehensive and walked around like a local. Maxine is an excellent guide!
Very organized trip. Had a great tour guide who provided helpful information, offered great suggestions, and allowed time for both a structured tour and free time to explore own our own.
Excellent guide and itinerary
I spent two weeks in Europe and rented an apartment in Prague for the duration. From Prague, I caught trains to Budapest, Munich, Füssen, Terezin and Salzburg which was a last minute decision. Of everything I saw and did, this Salzburg trip was by far my favorite. Our guide was amazing but I forgot her name. In Salzburg, I had time to do some shoe shopping, had a fantastic lunch with new friends and saw the things I wanted to see.
