We begin in the heart of downtown Salem, in historic Derby Square, right oiutsode Old Town Hall.

Stop At: Bewitched Statue of Elizabeth Montgomery, Essex and Washington Street, Salem, MA 01970
You will hear the story of how the classic sitcom Bewitched came to Salem in the summer of 1970 to film several episodes on location!

Stop At: Old Burying Point Cemetery, Charter Street, Salem, MA 01970
The Old Burying Point is one of the oldest and most historic cemeteries in the nation, with a number of beautiful stones and fascinating stories.
Duration: 15 minutes
Stop At: Salem Witch Trials Memorial, Liberty Street Off Charter Street, Salem, MA 01970
Here, you will learn more about the real story of the tragic witch trials as we visit a memorial to the victims.
Duration: 15 minutes
Stop At: Salem Common, Washington Sq, Salem, MA 01970
We will end on Salem Common to hear about the fire that almost wiped Salem of the map, and how the city was changed by it forever.

We were hosting some visiting family members from out of state, and took the opportunity to go on Salem on Foot Walking Tour with Rory. Rory's tour covered it all, from the Naumkeag people, and the witch trials, to Leslie's Retreat and beyond. His tour gave me a deeper appreciation for the history of the city. I learned a lot and enjoyed the time. His recommendation for dinner was spot on as well. The only disappointment was that I wished it was longer. Don't get me wrong, this is a 90 minute tour, and is comprehensive. Rory's delivery and deep knowledge gave me the feeling there was still more to learn. Rory was also conscientious of COVID protocols, which I appreciated very much. I'd sign on for another tour with him next time we bring guests to MA.Rory did a great job providing an informative, historically-accurate tour of the overall history of Salem, not just the witch trials. If you just want to focus on the witch trials then maybe this is not the right tour !
