Not worth it. Tickets to the Catacombs, including guided tour, are 10 euro per person. Just taxi straight to the San Callisto catacombs and purchase guided tour tickets there instead of paying >40 euros per person for a disorganized bus transfer. Catacombs site is also super organized, set up with multiple guides and languages for visitors.

Thus tour was OK. It started with a 1p 10 minute walk to meet a bus. The catacomb visit invoked a "canned" tour, with over 40 people and only one guide doing his best. The bus doesn't take you to the crypts - you need to get your own taxi or walk the 2+ km. Overall - good to see a catacomb.

Liked the guides delivery of the religious significance - sincere and faith based, not secular, but did not seem overly preachy, off putting to those not from the Christian faith. Logistics were the worst of any tour we were on in a week. It all worked; Just not as clear or simple as others, causing extra stress in redeeming online vouchers for tickets for many of the folks on our tour, including us, and a strangely long walk to the bus.

Started with the bus journey to catacombs. Driver spent a lot of time and effort preparing guide books in a variety of languages for his tourists. He took us past lots of areas explaining as he drove and a different route back. He also enjoyed the tunes….. ABBA was my favourite, felt like a karaoke bus, encouraging us to sing and join in as we travelled, what a lovely tour guide and driver, a proud native showing his city. The catacombs were a very humbling experience, the guides were very thorough and sensitive to the whole visit. Unbelievable to think of the number of romans buried there of all ages, thank you for allowing us to pay our respects.

This was an excellent trip. We were met at tourist office by Virgilia, who had organised our tickets a couple of days earlier for our trip to Roman Forum and Colosseum and had been excellent. Virgilia led us on short walk to meet our bus transfer to Catacombs. Our driver, Alessandro made the journey to the Catacombs most interesting by giving us a tour of wonderful sights outside the city centre, as well as having an amazing playlist on the bus and a fabulous atmosphere. Alessandro’s love and enthusiasm for his beloved city was infectious! I would highly recommend this tour. From start to finish it was superb…

Expensive waste! Viator sold us the tickets but the catacombs were NOT EVEN open on the dates they booked us! The Italian tourist office tried to help by guiding us to Navona underground but that location ran out of headphones! $400 later for a 10 minute walk around! Requesting a refund!!

Very interesting tour of the Catacombs and great bus tour pointing out landmarks to and from the site. Guides were friendly and knowledgeable. Definitely recommend!

This was a fascinating tour and I would highly recommend it to others. Alessandro was wonderfully charming and we enjoyed getting a primer on some of Rome’s ancient attractions on our way to the catacombs. The catacomb tour itself was also very good and the whole family enjoyed their time.

It was basically a bus ride to the catacombs. The tour company actually went in their own group and left all of who paid with the catacombs guide. Let the guide you only get to see 5% and no photos allowed Would never recommend this to anyone

I set out from citivavecchiq at 8.00am to meet the tour. I took all the appropriate public transport and arrived a few minutes late… after 2 and a half hours of travel and waiting. I got to piazza Venezia and quickly found the pickup point at the Same place. I had missed it. I caught the 118 bus from the piazza to the catacombs hoping to catch up with the tour: I had to walk over a mile to the catacombs from the bus and when I reached the catacombs, no one knew the tour group: this was a horrible experience and no backup plan, not even to join the tour there. Poor service I think. Should be a backup plan!!!!

The guide was very informative but didn't allow questions. I was surprised by how huge the catacombs are. It was good not to stay down too long.

The tour literature said we would have a 25 minute Roman history video and a tour of the catacombs. We had the tour which only lasted 20 minutes and no video. We were supposed to be dropped off afterwards at the meeting place, but we got dropped where we got on the bus which as a 15 minute walk from where we met at the tour office. We were disoriented because we didn't know where we were. Definitely not worth the money and the worst tour we had in our 2 weeks in Italy. I would like a refund but don't have the time to fuss about it with someone.

Alessandro the driver who gave the tour around Rome was a highlight. His open top small coach was fine, and he had prepared guide books in several languages and commentated as he drove.. He took care to ensure everyone was catered for and showed his home city with pride. The catacombs presentation was enlightening and gave a good historical background before the underground tour. As a package the two elements worked well for a half day.

Bus tour guide was very friendly and informative. He showed us a few locations along the way and had booklets explaining each spot - these were available in different languages (not as gaeilge!). We went to Catacombe Di Domitilla . I gather it varies day to day which exact one you go to - they said one was closed for the day(it was a bank holiday). The guide at the catacombs was excellent. In all round trip took about 2.5 hrs. We paid €48 each which included the €10 entrance fee (so a little expensive for the bus tour part). Bus was open sided so definitely need rain gear or the free ponchos if it’s raining. I gave this 4 stars because of the cost - everything else was good.

Emilio who took us to the catacombs was fabulous, on the way there he showed us some of the sites you would not think to view. You need to like cheesy music and a sing song on the way. The catacombs were interesting, but the best part was emelio’s bus ride there and back. I would recommend!

I was expecting simply a bus transfer to the catacombs and a tour on arrival. But our bus driver Alessandro provided commentary and description of about 10 historic sites en route. He was entertaining & informative - it was a great bonus. The catacombs themselves were fascinating - the whole experience was great. Would recommend.

Might be an idea to have the bus driver speak more than just Italian, we got off the bus and he had no idea how many of us were on the trip and how many tickets to get.

It was an educational experience and a once in a life time excursion. I recommend this tour. The tour bus driver was courteous and gave us a great tour on the way to the catacombs.
