Had a great day out with Adventure Crete with Petra as our guide. Petra was very knowledgable about the area and history of Crete. The walk through the gorge was tricky at times but fairly easy for able people. With plenty of photo opportunities along the way. As you make it to the falls you’re welcomed by the glorious views. A lovely dip into the mountain fresh waters is a great reward for the trek. Once we were ready and stroll back down towards the beach back to the car. Before heading to a restaurant for lunch and then along to an ancient olive tree. A very enjoyable day and would highly recommend Adventure CreteAndre was amazing, he knew the area so well and he gave interesting information on everything we were seeing. Andre was amazing, he knew the area so well and he gave interesting information on everything we were seeing. The trip contains some difficult terrain and he was patient and helpful to those who were struggling a bit, the whole trip was really well structured and the food was great too, it allowed us to get a taste of lots of different type of Greek food. Also, my friend left something in his car and he was kind enough to contact us afterwards and return it to us. This was the best day we had in our week trip to Crete, so I definitely recommend booking it!Last year we did the Sarakina Gorge trip so decided to do the Richtis Falls trip this time. Last year we did the Sarakina Gorge trip so decided to do the Richtis Falls trip this time. Ann in the office was very helpful and organised a trip for us. We were surprised when Petra picked us up at our hotel as she was our driver last year also. We were also surprised that like last year my wife and I were the only two doing the trip. It was a very picturesque drive to the falls with Petra pointing out places of interest. The climb to the falls was quite demanding for someone my age but Petra made sure we took our time. Good walking shoes are a must although we did see someone doing it bare footed!!!. The walk to the top was well worth it and we rested a while at the waterfall before taking the 30 minute walk back to the Land Rover. We stopped at a Taverna for lunch with food fit for an army. A very pleasant day spent with Petra again who is a very good guide and careful driver. Was a brilliant trip with beautiful views, the hike to the waterfall was brilliant but quite physically demanding, recommend walking boots. Was a brilliant trip with beautiful views, the hike to the waterfall was brilliant but quite physically demanding, recommend walking boots. Took half an hour to the waterfall and half an hour back out but thoroughly enjoyed it! Stopped for lunch on the way back which was an amazing traditional Greek meal, stopped at a couple of other interesting points and the tour guide was very friendly and knowledgable. Loved it !I think one of the highlights of the journey was all the knowledge our guide had about the island as well as all the towns and parts of Crete you get to see. I think one of the highlights of the journey was all the knowledge our guide had about the island as well as all the towns and parts of Crete you get to see. Our driver was right on time to pick us up and off we went with one other couple. The drive over is a bit long, but we stopped several times for photo opportunities as well as to see the natural landscape and plants up close. I will say that the hike is quite intensive, I was surprised by how overgrown the path seemed in some places and that a lot of the plants had thorns! Once we were in the shaded part of the path it was quite nice and the waterfall was beautiful. The water helped cool everyone right down and made for a pleasant journey back to the car. Lunch was great, beautiful views and delicious food, what more can you ask for? The stop at the olive tree was interesting and our guide added in another stop at a chapel which was great. Overall a very informative day.
