Pass By: Sihlquai, Sihlstrasse 41, 8005 Zürich, Switzerland

Depart central Zurich or Zurich airport by comfortable coach and journey into northern Switzerland close to the German border. As you travel, pass pretty farming villages and vineyards, and hear from your guide how this beautiful region is known for its wine production.

Stop At: Rhine Falls, Rheinfallquai, Neuhausen am Rheinfall 8212 Switzerland

Arrive at 15th-century Laufen Castle, set on a clifftop facing the Rhine Falls, and take in the 450-foot (150-meter) wide and 75-foot (23-meter) high falls, Europe’s biggest.

Enjoy an hour here to see an exhibition, admire panoramic views from the glass elevator, or walk to the viewpoints above and around the falls to thrill at their roar and power. The site also has a playground, shops and restaurants. Perhaps opt for a boat ride (Subject to availability and not included in price) to experience the crashing cascades close up.

We got a comfortable ride towards and around river Rhine. We have visited Rhine falls (with 3 boat rides in an hour!), and a medieval town Stein am Rhein, which lies the border with Germany. The tour guide explained us all interesting facts about those areas, and his guidance was excellent!
The only negative side is a requirement to wear a mask in the bus, but it was a general rule in whole Switzerland.

We were thankful that the rain had stopped when we arrived at the Rhein Falls, and what a spectacular view! The tour group was blessed with a gentle, calm and knowledgeable tour guide called Anna-Liese and we also had a very skillful driver. Thank you Anna-Liese for giving us the snippets of all the interesting stories and background of Stein am Rhein, it was a very interesting, educational and well-paced trip.

What a great trip. The Falls are quite impressive and the boat ride really showed the power of the water. Stein am Rhein is a lovely quaint and well-preserved town - probably the best old town we saw in Switzerland. Peter was a great guide too. Would recommend this trip.

Highly recommend a trip to see the Rhine Falls and in particular taking the optional boat cruise which takes you close to the falls. The boat trip costs 10 CHF (cash only), is about 15 minutes and is definitely worthwhile (you may get a light spray but you don't get wet like you do at Niagra Falls). Stein am is pretty but it's small and not a lot to see (and it's a lot like a lot of other small European towns). Thought we would get a guided tour (based on the tour description) but you basically just get an hour to wander around yourself.

This was a great trip. The waterfalls were fun. But I think the visit to the town of Stein am Rhein was the highlight. It is very small but really adorable. You can take a quick walk through town and then go back to get some bread, cheese, meat, wine, ice cream, souvenirs, chocolate, etc. The tour guide was very knowledgeable and told us everything we could've wanted to know and more.

It was a good tour, it would have been much nicer if there was 30 more minutes at Rhine falls for having lunch.

Bus location is quit easy to find. Public transit is the least expensive way to get to the bus terminal. Our taxi ride was costly. We really enjoyed the scenic ride to the falls. The Rhine falls are really beautiful.... not huge.. but still beautiful. Lots of stairs to climb at the falls. The town of Stein am Rhein is picturesque and lovely. I would recommend this tour to others. It is relaxing and easy going.

Value for money
Fantastic guide, (Maude) knowledgeable and very clear with directions, times, meeting points, she had amazing patience for those who struggled following directions!
We did waste a bit of time at Rhine falls waiting for stragglers as the guide needs to give each person an entry ticket, some had wandered off to bathroom and we couldn’t enter until we were an entire group - bit frustrating.
If you do the boat ride at extra cost of 10 CHF (which is fun) be aware there are many steps down to the boat and up again to the castle- if you have trouble with stairs give it a miss, also you will not have time to more than a cursory view of the castle. The falls are beautiful and powerful but don’t expect them to compare with Niagra, they’re just different and awesome on their own. The town of Rhein am Stein is a must, again there is only an hour here so either grab a bite to eat that you can walk with or sit at an outside eating place and sacrifice the opportunity of walking he cobblestones streets and visiting the little shops. The bus ride to and from is very comfortable and you get to see the many faces of Switzerland’s landscape from small agricultural farms, mountains, rivers, lakes and little towns. Multiple photo opportunities from inside the bus. This is good value for money and a nice way to spend a half day. Of course it would be nice to have more time at the 2 stopping points but if that’s what you think you want, take a full day trip. Loved it.

It is a must. Beautiful falls. A walk in the town was good. Very nice murals on the houses. Taken a lot of pics. And it is only half a day trip. So worth it.

This tour was well worth the cost. Our guide was very informative and kept up commentary on the local surroundings. On the drive to the falls he explained about where we were going and what we would be seeing. At Rhine Falls he first led us down to the boat so that we could take a ride up close to the cascading falls. We then were given ample time on our own to explore the falls from the multiple vantage points. We then boarded the bus for a short trip to Stein am Rhein, a medieval village. Again we were given an hour or so to explore the town on our own. The sights included stunning frescoes on many timber frame houses. We would definitely recommend this tour.

Rhine Falls was beautiful, don't expect Niagra, but the photo platforms well done and a lift from river level back up to bus level. Stein am Rhein was a beautiful quintessential 14 - 17th century town. about a 2 block long wide inviting area, all comfortable shops. wish we could have stayed longer. Tour particulars, as bus, guide, pick up an drop off very well gone. We'll take more from Viator

This was an incredibly cool way to spend our last day before heading back to Australia. Stein am Rhein was an interesting and pretty village, would love to have spent a bit more time there to enable a walk down to the lake. The falls were quite remarkable too, lots of fun being driven up close to the falls and being sprayed only a little. As usual the bus driver and tour guide were up to the most wonderful standard providing lots of detail about the region we were travelling through and pointing out things of interest along the way.

Overall, the tour was very good. I took off one star because it was often very hard to hear the guide on the bus, because of the noise of the A.C. which was turned on to full blast. There was no way to communicate this to the guide while the bus was moving. As a result, I missed out on some titbits of information during the ride.
