What to expect
The Sound and Light Show at the Great Pyramids takes place on the Giza plateau, around 30 minutes from Cairo. The one-hour show begins with the illumination of the Sphinx, who narrates the history of the pyramids and their builders.
Using laser beams and light projections on the walls of the Mummification Temple, desert sands, pyramid walls and the Sphinx itself, a condensed story of Egypt unfolds. The accompanying soundtrack complements the surroundings and the voice of the Sphinx is suitably dramatic and mysterious!
After the show your driver/guide will meet you at the gates of the complex to escort you back to your hotel. With your own private transportation on this tour, you will travel directly between your hotel and the Sound and Light Show without stopping to collect other passengers.

Our driver and guide were prompt and very friendly! The traffic in Cairo is like nothing I have seen before! So that makes your driver very important. Seeing the pyramids at night is awesome! The show itself i could have done without, very cheesy.

This was a fun evening adventure and provided some great photo opportunities. Our guide: Mahmoud Badr and driver: Sabri were very polite and punctual and humorous. Mahmoud is an Egyptologist and provided some great history of the sites/area during our time together. Fun guys and very engaging. We also had time to stop at the Papyrus shop where we were given a demonstration of how it is made and ended up buying a few pieces that were reasonable in price. The light show itself is a bit dated in terms of technology - and should be updated but overall worth a few hours in the evening while you are in Cairo and again for wonderful picture opportunities. Ask for Mahmoud and Sabri and you won't be disappointed. One last thing - be sure to dress appropriately if you go in the colder months as the desert does get chilly with some wind and you will need to bundle upThe experience was absolutely amazing, the Giza Plateau at night accompanied by a narrated account of Egypt's ancient history. Mahmoud managed all the operational components, I simply enjoyed the experience.

Our Airbnb was close enough to the entrance that we didn’t even need pick-up service, or to actually go, but still went. It’s a show that tells a story about the Pyramids, so if you’re into that, definitely book.

He was timely on the evening of our tour and had an excellent driver (very important in crazy Cairo traffic) and ensured we were at the Sound and Light show early enough to obtain terrific front row seats. Would definitely recommend his services.
