The visit to the calanques is the highlight of the trip and would be better if more time was spent on it. Cassis is a quaint but unremarkable small town with typical tourist shops. The trip to the overlook is along a narrow winding mountain road and may be trying for those with vertigo or fear of heights but the view is beautiful. Personally not a fan of the wines but we were in the minority. Overall we’d suggest a shorter trip concentrating on the calanques.Enthusiastic and knowledgeable guide Caroline showed us fantastic places and gave good recommendations where to eat

This is a perfect trip to see a few beautiful places in Provence. Thomas, our guide, was extremely well versed in French history and freely shared his love of Provence. We were allowed 2 hours in Cassis for site seeing and lunch on our own, a good amount of time. The boat ride was great, and we not only saw the gorgeous limestone walls of the calanques, but also a few dolphins playing along side the boat. A trip to the top of Cap Canaille is a must do! It is the highest sea cliff in France towering 1,293 feet above Cassis. And, our final stop at a 7th generation run winery was delightful! Perfect ending to the day.
