Behold 6,000 years’ worth of history with a personalized tour. Follow your guide through the different departments arranged in chronological order and study the vast collection of 120,000 Egyptian antiquities—the world's largest. Be amazed by Tutankhamun’s possessions and visit his tomb. Admire his 6 gold-gilded coffins and the legendary gold mask that rested over his mummy, the most renowned attractions of the museum. The Royal Mummies Room (additional cost) is another highlight of the Egyptian Museum. Here you can see the mummies of many great Egyptian rulers, including Ramses II, the builder of the temples at Abu Simbel. Throughout the rest of the museum you will find countless Egyptian artifacts dating back thousands of years. Your guide will introduce you to the most important pieces before allowing you free time to explore at leisure. This is a private tour allowing you to determine the amount of time spent at the museum. In addition you will have the chance to visit a Papyrus Institute to see how this famous artwork is made and have the chance to purchase genuine items if you wish. If you do not want to include this visit, just inform your guide on the day.
