Before I go into the detail (which I suggest you read if you're going to take this tour) I should say that, yes, we enjoyed the tour and yes, it was decent value for money. The driver was great, although he didn't accompany us to the sights, he was able to answer our questions and his driving on the steep, winding roads was safe and sensible. So this is billed as a 4 stop tour, 2 hours each at: Trou aux cerfs The grand bassin crater (lake) Black river national park 7 coloured earth park We first stopped at what was billed as 'tea tasting'. It was actually a shop full of extremely expensive gifts. In and out quickly, the next shop was a 'local factory' (another expensive gift shop) followed by a 'rum tasting'. Yes, another very expensive gift shop. After a chat with the driver we declined the 'diamond jewellery maker' and I think another rum tasting. Trou aux cerfs is a volcano rim with some nice views, if you walk all the way round it takes about 20 minutes. We stopped to see the giant Hindu statues on the way to the lake (I'm assuming it was Grand Bassin?). There are numerous Hindu temples there at the lakeside. we were 10 minutes at the statues and another 10 at the lake. Then we went to the Black River National Park, well what I assume is the best viewpoint, job done in 10 minutes. There were clearly some hiking trails but with no information to hand we couldn't really get more adventurous. There were also some market stalls between the car park and the viewpoint that offered gifts at the best prices we saw during our stay in Mauritius. Then lunch, we drove past a dozen or so empty looking restaurants but had a good lunch, with other tourists at what was clearly the chosen place. We weren't paying local prices! The earlier shananigans made me suspicious of how the restaurant was selected. Before the 7 coloured earth park (right opposite the entrance in fact) we were bundled without explanation into 'Curious Chamaral'. It's a hotch potch of curiosities and optical illusions, for £10 a head. This might be OK if you had children with you but was a waste of time for us. This took the review from 4 stars to 3. Finally 7 coloured earth, including the waterfall, all very good but again only 30-40 mins although we could have hiked the short walk to the ebony plantation. So you could realistically do the whole lot in a morning and skip the lunch; if you avoided the gift shops and scams. Have a chat with the driver, give him a few hours off and the trip is worth the money.

We booked this trip at about 40 hours notice, yet, bonjour mauritius were able to accommodate us with a private guide Kesavan who picked us up at our hotel and gave us some info about the country whilst we drove to our stops. His car had extra umbrellas which were very welcome on this very wet day. We'd definitely recommend.

The trip was amazing. San, the driver and guide, told me everything about the island, it’s culture, food, nature, religion… You get to see all the amazing sites of the southwest within a few hours, definitely recommend this trip.

We enjoyed our trip, driver was polite and soft spoken and the car was comfortable as well. Driver help out us out by taking us to an amazing local restaurant for lunch as well. Only issue was that our driver did not seem to know much about the places we visited, and did not come in with us as other tourists drivers were.

We had a beautiful trip and saw more of this beautiful island. Thanks to Kesaven, our friendly driver we learned a lot over the country. Highly recommended to do such a trip!

Situated in the south west of Mauritius, one has to experience this amazing phenomenon on a sunny day.

We booked the tour couple of days in advance. On the day a taxi driver came to pick us up and then we found out that he is also the tour guide which could have been fine if he would actually speak English or have any knowledge about the attraction (or maybe he has the knowledge but can’t deliver it in English). Basically it was nothing more then a taxi ride. Disappointing!!! I don’t recommend it at all.

Nachdem wir geklärt hatten, dass wir Sehenswürdigkeiten sehen und nicht Shoppen in Touristenläden gehen möchten, haben wir alles, wie beschrieben, gezeigt bekommen. Wenn das Englisch unseres Fahrers etwas besser gewesen wäre und er etwas mehr geredet hätte, hätten wir mehr über Mauritius lernen können. Von einer privaten Tour hatten wir uns etwas mehr versprochen.

Leider waren wir nicht zu überzeugt als wir von dieser Reise zurück kamen. Gebuchtes und erlebtes haben sich doch ein wenig unterschieden und man wurde hauptsächlich an die Orte gefahren, an welchen die Organisation am meisten profitieren konnnte. Angefangen hat es damit, dass wir zu erst in ein Glasmuseum gebracht wurden, dies war nicht vereinbart, war aber nett und eher kostengünstiger Natur. Anschliessend fuhr man uns zu "Shopping-Centern", also ein paar Pullover Läden und nachdem wir abgewunken haben, wollte man noch zu Schmuck Läden, die bremsten wir ebenfalls unverzüglich. Wir gehen davon aus, dass die Organisation hier eine Provision erhält... Anschliessend war das Grand Bassin dran, dies haben wir uns etwas anders vorgestellt, aber dafür kann der Fahrer nichts. Nun kam aber die grösste Abzocke der Tour. Statt den versprochenen 7 colored Earths ging es zum Ealley of Couleur an welchem man 23 colored earths sehen könne... Wir hätten von Anfang an abwinken sollen und auf den eigentlich geplanten Nationalpark bestehen sollen! Dies war ein Touristen Tempel mit dem schlechtesten Essen der ganzen Ferien und extrem überteuerten Buggy und Quadfahrten. Ich nehme an, das ganze hat der Organisation eine dicke Provision eingebracht, aber wir hätten lieber das original gesehen! Entsprechende Erfahrungsberichte kann man auf Tripadvisor finden, wobei ich mich schon wundere, wieso es so viele positive dabei hat, da dies wirklich eine reine Touristenfalle ist. Im Endeffekt kann ich leider von dieser Tour eher abraten, da man nur als Gut herumgekarrt wird um möglichst viel Profit herauszuschlagen und dies wird einem auf der Fahrt auch entsprechend bewusst, was einen unangenehmen Nachgeschmack hinterlässt. Wenn man sie allerdings bucht, bitte darauf bestehen die gebuchten Dinge anzusteuern und sich nicht überreden lassen die anderen Aktivitäten durchzuführen. Die Viewpoints waren nett und boten eine gute Aussicht über Mauritius, im Endeffekt haben uns von der Tour vor allem die Affen gefallen am letztem Viewpoint. Wir werden wohl nochmals ein separates Taxi nehmen um die originalen 7 colored Earths zu begutachten und den dazugehörigen Nationalpark. Etwas überspitzt könnte man sagen, hat man einen wertvollen Tah der Ferien mit ungeplantem verschwendet und ärgert sich noch dazu darüber. Sehr schade!

La terre des 7 couleurs est surprenante : les couleurs changent selon l heure et selon la température ! La cascade de Chamarel est grandiose et de belles photos peuvent être réalisées. Ne manquez pas en face de l’entrée de la terre des 7 couleurs «  Curious Corner » la maison aux effets optiques amusants et incompréhensibles. Les enfants et les grands adoreront. Le trou aux cerfs vaut le déplacement pour le panorama comme les gorges de la rivière noire mais beaucoup de touristes.

très belle excursion avec en plus des beaux paysages, à ne pas manquer également le musée de modèles réduits de la marine situé à Curepipe (travail des ouvriers superbe et exceptionnel).

Très belles découvertes : à faire... Vous êtes libres de visiter chaque site à votre rythme et votre chaufferie est à écoute de demandes spécifiques éventuelles

Une belle sortie avec un chauffeur & guide privé du meilleur niveau (Mr Soopaya). De nombreux endroits visités, dont le Jardin botanique Sir Seewoosagur Ramgoolam (Pamplemousses). Extraordinaire, mais un guide est vraiment indispensable !

Je recommande vivement cette entreprise. Le chauffeur envoyé monsieur Ken est un spécialiste, très professionnel, souriant, agréable, patient. Excellente journée. Merci beaucoup.

Gostei de uma forma geral e foi uma experiência positiva. As horas foram respeitadas ao segundo e tivemos tempo para ver tudo. No entanto, tratou-se apenas de uma viagem de taxi, em que o condutor nos deixava na entrada das atrações e dizia onde estaria à nossa espera. De resto, correu muito bem e recomendo a visita aos locais que são muito bonitos.

Auf jeden Fall einen Ausflug wert! Sehr beeindruckendes Naturschauspiel. Jeder erkennt andere Farben. Mückenschutz empfehlenswert. Dauer vor Ort: ca. 45 Minuten incl. Schildkröten-gucken absout ausreichend

Aujourd'hui Nous avons fais le sud ouest de l île, chamarel, la rhumerie ( attention, entrée payante et les machines ne tournent pas l'hiver...) la terre au 7 couleurs, les cascades, nous avons pu voir le lac sacré, mais avec la pluie, nous n'avons pu profiter de faire de belles photos.. Éviter donc la période d'hiver ( qui est de mai à septembre)!! Pour finir, nous avons manger dans un restaurant local mauricien 🇲🇺, servi dans une feuille de banane et manger avec les mains, vraiment à faire, le restaurant s'appelle eboni.
