My wife and I took the Sun Pyramids two day tour from Cairo to Alexandria, staying overnight in Alexandria. The tour was highly enjoyable, with everything meeting our expectations. This started with the pretour contact from their office (Nora), the driver (Abdul), and our guide, Mahmoud Mohammed Emam. Mahmoud was professional and well prepared. He was friendly, enthusiastic and informative. We were able to relax and visit the key tourism sites in Alexandria, and learn about the city and its culture.
The Hotel used for the overnight stay was sub standard. The walls were peeling from water damage, the room had rodent droppings in the corner next to the bed. The shower walls were covered in mold. The shower curtain was old and stained with mold, the smell was overpowering. One ratty, stringy bath towel was provided for two adults. The tub drain had to be plied out of the tub so water could drain. WiFi connection was worse than slow, dropped continually. The bedding was old dingy and lacking loft. The bed springs screamed with every move you made in the hardest, cheapest oldest mattress ever invented. We wanted to call Viatour to be moved but could not use the phone.
