At this place, you will see the life of the many sea species of Nha Trang Ocean that being made in a smaller world of this aquarium. Mun Island is the best site for snorkeling where you will see lots of live colorful corals and fish. This site has been officially protected under the support of Danish Government. Tri Nguyen Aquarium, also called Hon Mieu Aquarium, is located on Hon Mieu Island, the most crowded island in Nha Trang due to the location near the seashore. “Mieu” in the name “Hon Mieu” is the spoonerism of temples in Vietnamese because there is a temple of Nam Hai God on this island. Hon Mieu Island is also called Bong Nguyen Island, the heaven island, because of its magnificent beauty.

Hon Mun has a total area of 160 km2, of which 122 km2 is sea area and 38 km2 is the total area of the island. In the eastern side of Hon Mun Island, there are many species of Salangane making nest in the black rock caves. With its favorable climate and terrain, Hon Mun Island is situated close to hot sea currents from the equator, which is suitable for the development of many coral and tropical marine species. Therefore, it has diverse and abundant marine organisms. This island is also home to research, observation for oceanographers, researchers, and tourists who are looking for ascertaining about the ocean creatures. If you dive down the seawater, you will be overwhelmed by a different world, which is considered a colorful, shimmering, and fanciful paradise. You will have an opportunity to admire such “”untouched coral forest” with a lot of appealing colors and multi-shapes.

Hon Mieu Nha Trang, also known as Bong Lai Island, is the closest island in Nha Trang Bay . Therefore, it is also a concentrated place of population. Moving to Hon Mieu is also quite simple. You just need to rent a motorboat and it only takes a few minutes to reach the island. If you have a short trip to Nha Trang , Hon Mieu is the ideal place for you to visit
