I had a great trip with Wazzer and the driver. Smooth ride on the 3 hours trip to Alexandria and a very knowledgeable guide in Wazzer. Would definitely recommend this trip
We went to Alexandria with the well informed , friendly guide Achmet and with the fast but well controled driver Mohammed .
The visit of the citadel and of the harbor, and of the famous library was most impressive to us , also the green places in Alexandria , also some Roman relicts.
The fish - lunch in a nice restaurant looking to the harbor was appreciated.
My day in Alexandria was wonderful; it was great to get out of Cairo and see the green fields and date palms. The Library is truly amazing and the visit to the catacombs was very interesting.
Confortable private van with good and friendly guide.
We visited all the mains attrations in the city and we had a wonderful lunch in restaurant in front of Alexandria bay.
Everything was perfect
We had an excellent driver, Said knew his way around Alexandria and our tour guide Mehtad has vast knowledge of the city.
Overall experience was very good. We visited on four sites: the catacombs, an Ottoman fortress national museum, and library. The first is the most interesting and surely worth a visit. Guide was very good.
Driver was good compared to all the other drives we had, but this doesn't mean that I have to tip the driver. The driver is part of the tour I booked. It's not my problem that everyone seems to work with subcontractors.
Lunch was bad and even water wasn't included.
We had to tell the guide to stop and let us take pictures. The library is a big let down, paid for by foreign companies/ countries we as tourist still have to pay a hefty price to see how locals have a room to read. We can hardly access anything online. And the interesting parts of the library (copy of rare books and manuscripts) isn't included in the price.
Guide arrived at time , car was comfortable and in good condition . Driver was driving safely most of the time but near the end he became bit casual .
Guide Ashraf Legend was friendly and helpful full . Keen on taking our photos . He was caring in attitude . However he was not very forthcoming for giving information initially but when given the feed back he started giving informations. He went out of the way to help in shopping perfumery on way back to hotel in Cairo . He took us to a perfume shop near Sphinx .
Waste of time and money. The guide Noni was rude, after first 15 min of the trip, she wanted be on the phone constantly with her fiance, she would leave us at the entrance of tourist places explaining something with strange accent. Let us go on our own. We were told vegetarian food is included, she forced us to go to a place where there was free food for her but 4 pieces of boiled vegetables and french fries for us. We could not eat anything, came back to our hotel 9 hours later hungry due to time limitation and we' were happy to be back in our hotel. Very bad experience. This suppose to be a private tour to Alexandria Egypt, ended up as a disaster..
Guide was good- had to deal with heavy rain and flooding.
At the seafood resturant if you have fish be sure to tell them "fillet" or you will get a complete fish, head, tail, fins and all...
Alexandria looks alot like Cario- not sure if it's worth going to?
We were picked up at 7ham at our hotel and we proceeded to Alexandria which is about 2h30 / 3h away from Cairo, depending on the traffic!
Our guide Shawky was very informative, was able to pass on great knowledge, although his English is a bit limited, which is understandable not being his first language.
We visited great sites in Alexandria and had fairly enough time to enjoy it. If I had to redo it, I might look into staying over night to enjoy the city a bit more.
We also have to give a big shout out to our driver Abanob, so patient and excellent driver.
All in all, we had a wonderful day and we recommend this tour!
I was so excited about this tour but it was not good for several reasons. The weather was crappy but we could have made it work with the rain. Our tour guide was not good at all. First, it say we will be traveling in a mini van with WiFi, it also states that we would have snacks, bottled water and sodas and we had NONE of that. The car was really small and we had a really hard time getting our seatbelts out of the wet seats. Our tour guide was too aggressive and pushy. It felt like it we were in class and participation was mandatory. It was frustrating and annoying. She also wasn’t accommodating when we asked about souvenirs. She really took us where she wanted to take us regardless of our request. To make matters worse, she has the driver to drop her home first. It wasn’t a b pleasant experience at all.
We visited four sites, however, we were not able to pick from seven sites as advertised. We were picked up at our hotel and the car was very small with no leg room in the back. The car had lots of dings in it suggesting it had been in many accidents. We never received any snacks on the 2.5 hour trip to Alexandria from Cairo and never were offered snacks on the way back. We had to pay for soft drinks at lunch (100 EGP) even though soft drinks were on the What's Included list. When we arrived at our first site, the Alexandria Library, I was told we had to pay for all four attractions that we were visiting today. On our Viator voucher, the only What's Not Included were "Gratuities." The total we had to pay for the two of us to enter the four sites was 580 EGP. I believe that we should be compensated for our soft drinks and entry fees from Viator in the amount of 680 EGP which is about $42.00. I would not recommend using this tour operator.
if your thinking about this trip run away, tour never shower up, stop answering phones, charged us the money up front and when we asked for refund they told viator we took trip. which we didn't. SCAMMERS
Fantastic day in the historic city of Alexandria, Tour guide was incredibly informative and helpful with all queries. Would most certainly recommend this tour.
This detailed tour of Alexandria was enhanced by Mohammed's commentary on the way to the ancient city. The tour is a great way to see more of Egypt in a short amount of time!
We had to pay for every single site we entered... which the listing does not say. Got overcharged at lunch for our drinks, unless our guide had us pay for his (which I think is what happened). Our guide had a pretty heavy accent so we didn't understand around a third to a half of the information he was giving us and we gave up on trying to make him repeat everything. At one of the sites, he gave us two minutes of quick information then had us go walk around by ourselves the rest of the time, while he sat and talked to a friend. We got home, looked at the itinerary and realized we did not even go to all of the sites. One of the sites we did go to, he discouraged us to go in to because "Most people don't, you can see it all from here". Then, hours early, the tour ended and we had the long ride back with just the driver, and not the tour guide. The driver was really nice, but didn't know much English so we wouldn't have been able to ask any questions. Overall, felt like the entire time the tour guide was doing the absolute minumum and making us pay when we weren't supposed to... unless this tour listing really just doesn't include that you have to pay for every single site. But don't book unless you're expecting to pay a lot extra on top of the price, and make sure you know every site you're supposed to visit. There are different companies who do this same tour, so I'm sure you can have a lovely time (like I always have when booking a tour on Viator) but man, what a waste of money and a day. I would have been much happier planning this part myself and not going through Viator, unfortunately. I've waited a long time before leaving this review and it is still, months later, bothering me enough for me to leave it. Very disappointed.
Ashraf was our tour guide and Abanob was our driver. My mother and I were travelling together. It was a full day with amazing sites. Ashraf was extremely caring and tried to make the day tailored to our needs, he was always checking to make sure we were happy or if we needed rest breaks or a cold drink. He was willing to take as much time as we wanted at each location. He greeted us in traditional attire which we appreciated, and aside from seeing the sites of the tour the driver and guide gave us good insight in traditional Egyptian life and culture, and answered all of our many questions. I have visited 50 countries, our driver was probably one of the best that I've ever had, he was very alert and even though the traffic is crazy, his driving was so smooth. The driver and guide were both gentlemen, always opening the doors for us. A great day! I would definitely recommend this team!
My guide Sameh was very knowledgeable about the city and its history He was very accommodating and eager to please. It is a shame that the entrance to the city makes one feel that the city has been recently bombarded, there was so much debris and garbage on the streets, for a few moments I regretted being there. Another think that disgusted me was the fact of seeing so many neglected and homeless dogs and cats.
Our tour guide, Gemy was super enthusiastic and informative. He made our trip to Alexandria fun and relaxing. We saw the catacombs, amphitheater, citadel, and library. Also, we made some stops along the way for local food and Turkish coffee. My teen boys had a terrific time. Beautiful city and delicious food. Alexandria is a must-see destination!
