I had always wanted to visit the island where my grandfather was born but had never seen and since we made it, despite the nightmare of the pandemic, the only thing left was to find a tour that would show us as much of the island as possible. The only way to describe our choice is that we hit the Jackpot. Costas took us on an incredible tour but our luck didn't end there. He offered to take us to a beach called holy gorge the next day which when we googled we yelled YESSS. He took us there in his pickup truck because the road is horrible the last few miles. The road stops right before the entrance of the gorge which we had to trek in order to get to the beach. The trekking took 20 minutes more or less and it was super easy. Once we reached the beach we were in awe. We stayed there that long that we had to use the flashlights on our phones to trek back. We would have paid any amount Costas had asked for that experience but he refused to accept any even for fuel. He called it repatriation gift. Honest hospitality at its very best.Go no further if you’re looking for a customizable Crete tour conducted in style and comfort within a relaxed and humorous atmosphere. Go no further if you’re looking for a customizable Crete tour conducted in style and comfort within a relaxed and humorous atmosphere. In fact, my kids asked if Kosta was my “brother from another mother”. Pro: Great with the kids Filled with interesting information Only excellent driver on the island Con: We should have booked an additional day and seen/learned even more… You know how we all have that one uncle, not the crazy one, the other one who has you hanging on every word of a colorful story? Well, that’s “Uncle” Kosta who epitomized Cretan hospitality with a well balanced mix of historical facts, local lore, Greek mythology, cultural idiosyncrasies, hands-on lessons of flora and fauna, tastes, sights and sounds of the island. His dry humor and story telling captured the attention of the entire family and kept us all engaged. His flexibility and breadth of knowledge shown through with side detours and deep dives into our own varied topics of interest (Food, Mythology, WWII, etc). Not one part of the trip was “canned”, we were always presented with options and candid recommendations and feedback, from stops to restaurants. Additionally, Kosta made himself available during the remainder of our vacation to call if we had any questions, required additional recommendations, etc. A son of Crete, Kosta is an ambassador to those seeking to experience the wonders of Cretan life, which I credit to his desire to treat those around him like family (or at least the family you like). Thank you Uncle Kosta, we hope to see you again in the future. Cheers. ***Note, I’ve relied on Trip Advisor reviews for ever and have never taken the time to write one. This experience compelled me to do so… don’t miss out!The tour with Kostas was really great - the car super comfortible, Kostas´ descriptions/narrations of Crete history and sights really entertaining, food in taverns which he recommended very tasty. It was an amazing day.

We chose this tour after the recommendation of the receptionist at the hotel we were staying. We were very skeptical at first after all that praising that made us think she must be related to the tour company. It didn't take us long too realize why. From the moment we got into the vehicle we felt at home. Clean, spacious, comfortable and with a T.V. that kept my 4 year old son busy watching cartoons while we were diving into the magnificent history/mythology of the island. Maybe it's not important but we were provided with water all day long. We were offered a bottle before we even think we were thirsty. I don't know what the cost of it was but it made us feel that the company cared more about people than dollars. Thank you for those amazing 10+ hours. One of the best tours I have been on over the last 10 years. Had some great conversations that kept me from drifting to my default state of boredom. I do recommend it!!
