All the main monument attractions of Pisa are in one large area. We met our guide at the main gate and were taken to the Baptistery. It was an unexpected delight. The acoustics are amazing, and on a regular basis one of the Guards sings and you get a perspective of how good the sound is. Andrea Bocelli has sung in this building apparently. The Cathedral is also worth seeing which was also unexpected. The Leaning Tower is a water tower and has not sunk but has risen up on one side. When they went to shore it up they discovered that all the buildings are leaning but the Tower is the leaning the most. Our guide left us with our tickets to go up the Tower and we completed this part of the tour on our own. All over a great experience and the other parts (other than the Tower) were a real bonus.
I booked this guided tour at short notice. I have used Viator before, and always found the guides very helpful, adding much to the visit. Once again, our guide Andrea, provided the right amount of information to enhance our visit to Pisa. She even pointed out the right place from which to take photos of the tower.
A great and thorough review of the baptistry, cathedral, and leaning tower. The tour guide was funny!
I was amazed seeing these beautiful white marble buildings from afar. I cannot remember the name of our tour guide, but she was amazing. It turned out, my friend and I were the only ones signed up for the tour! So it was a private tour for 2! The inside of the Cathedral is unbelievably gorgeous! Our tour guide pointed out some interesting facts about the buildings. I did not sign up for the tower climb but I highly recommend this tour for those interested in the Baptistery, Cathedral, and Leaning Bell Tower!
