The chef, the class and the food were excellent. Fun and informative. I learnt a lot from her. The ONLY drawback had nothing to do with her at all. The directions for the meeting point were vague and I had to call to clarify it was inside the market and not outside. I was not the only person to make this error. But I’m not dedicating any stars because I had such a good time. I know how to make risotto now!!Our instructor Liú was so knowledgeable and led a great pasta making experience. The cooking school is located in the Mercato, so there is a lot of amazing food to see there as well.

Overall, the five hours was fun, worthwhile, and there was certainly plenty of time to cook, learn, tour the markets, and drink Prosecco. We had a good group, and we had plenty of laughs. We mainly learned that everything we knew about Italian cooking was wrong, and the many rules about which ingredients are not allowed, and which pasta shapes cannot be used with different sauces. My concern is that there is a difference between being proud of Italian heritage and traditions versus being dismissive and rude about the food cultures of other countries. The chef/instructor’s questioning technique was designed to set people up to fail, rather than inform and educate. This became a mix of tiring and amusing. Also, we asked for help in finding the location (as it wasn’t very clear), and received good support from the tour operator with email and text responses. The emailed recipes were provided very quickly after the class, and were well presented.Fairly well organized, learned a lot , and the ravioli, risotto and tiramisu excellent! Would highly recommend for Milan visit
