Stop At: Pamukkale, Pamukkale
In the morning you will leave Izmir behind and drive to Pamukkale. This amazing place is a beautiful and spectacular natural site, unique in the world with its fairylike, dazzling white, petrified lime cascades. There you will see the thermal spring water laden with calcareous salt, plunging down the mountain side which has created this natural formation of stalactites, cataracts and basins. The thermal water has been used since the Roman period for its therapeutic powers.
Duration: 3 hours
Stop At: Hierapolis & Pamukkale, Pamukkale 20280 Turkiye
Next you will visit the Roman city of Hierapolis, which is not located not on earth or rock, but on solid limestone layers formed by limestone water that flowed for centuries over this raised level plateau. The name means "sacred city", and according to Stephanus of Byzantium the city was given this name because of the large number of temples it contained.
Duration: 1 hour
Stop At: Izmir, Izmir, Izmir Province, Turkish Aegean Coast
While here you will visit the Apollo Temple competing with Delphi, Monumental Nympheum (a 4th century Basicala) and the Theatre. After visiting the best preserved Necropolis, return to Izmir.

Depending on the weather what colour the calcium pools are but well worth dipping your feet in. Make sure you walk all the way around the board walk to the other side it's gorgeous

Pamukkale and the vicinity were beautiful and we are glad that we visited. The bus was full but comfortable, staff were English speaking and helpful. The drive was fairly long though which is not their fault but just highlighting it for those who are travelling from Izmir as we did. One thing that kind of ruined it for us is that the bus stopped particular stops that is clearly curated for foreign tourists that had outrageously high prices for soft drinks, water etc. A can of coke was 65 liras and having travelled the world extensively, I never paid that kind of money for a can coke which mind you, one can get for 9 liras from the shops in Turkey or up to 30 liras in a restaurant. It was Sunday and that was the first mistake we did when we planned to go to pamukkale😏. It was Sunday and that was the first mistake we did when we planned to go to pamukkale😏. We were deceived by the spectacular photos but in reality the water is very much controlled. Only a small portion is supplied by the water rest is dry. The sun was burning and the vision was blurred with the whiteness of the Cotton Castle. As we were less informed and the tour guide was selfish enough to keep an umbrella only for himself we were literally burned. Coleoptera pool was so crowded that I hardly could see water. Anyway maybe this is an amazing place to visit but my and my children’s opinion is 3 star.
