Thanks G~rkan and Painted Ladies Tour Company for an excellent day wine tasting in Sonoma. The entire day was so enjoyable and so well run, especially what ended up being a private tour for just my sister and I. All 3 vineyards were so well selected and the authentic Italian lunch was a highlight. Highly recommend the Painted Ladies Tour Company for any tours around SF and in particular the Somoma Wine Tasting Tour if you enjoy your wine! The buses are charming but unfortunately we had a bit of car trouble before leaving SF. The buses are charming but unfortunately we had a bit of car trouble before leaving SF. However, the Painted Ladies more than made up for it. They were great, with several surprises throughout the day to make up for what was, really, a minor inconvenience. As to the Wine Tour, our guide (Kohio, I am probably spelling it wrong) was friendly, had a fun personality, and did great job of pointing out sights and telling us more about them. He made the trip fun and the views were lovely on the way out to Sonoma. He was a good driver as well. We went to three wineries. The first one was picture perfect, situated in the middle of the vineyard with pretty furniture, but the wine was not to our liking. The next two wineries were much better and the winery with the onsite 'deli' was awesome. They describe it as a deli, but really it was much more than that. I had the burrata board- it had two large puffs of burrata drizzled with balsamic, perfect golden buttery flatbread. and fresh tomatoes sprinkled with basil and laced with more balsamic. So nice. The wines there were very good but the food was the star of the show (we were starving as our delay in the morning put our arrival for lunch around 1:45 - without the delay we would have been there earlier). Everyone in our group was so busy eating and sharing (yes, we were strangers and we shared - that is how jovial the atmosphere was!) that the wines almost became an after thought. It would have been nice to have the tasting first and then pick a glass of wine to drink with lunch after the tasting. The third winery was very cool. It's hard to top a wine tasting in an actual wine cave 75' under ground. A beautifully furnished wine cave! Our hosts were very knowledgeable about the wine and the wine making process at their winery. I had to buy wines here and can't wait to indulge in them! This was a really nice trip and like I said, we had a bit of a delay in the morning (but that seems to be unusual for them in reading other reviews). Things happen and Painted Ladies really went out of their way to make sure we were happy. Highly recommend this tour for a fun and enlightening day.We had a fabulous day with Caio as our wine tour guide. He was knowledgeable and funny. We enjoyed each of the wineries he took us to. We definitely recommend Caio and Painted Ladies.

Let me start off by saying this wine tour was the absolute best part of our entire trip! My friends and I went a girls' trip to San Francisco in March 2022 and wanted to visit wine country without having to worry about renting a vehicle, finding a sober driver, figuring out what wineries to visit etc., so we booked a tour with Painted Ladies and it was absolutely amazing, I don't even know where to begin. Gürkan was our guide and he was the very best! We had such a great time with him and he went above and beyond to make the day special for all of us. Along with that, the other people in our group were so incredible! We started off the day as complete strangers and by the end of our tour it felt like we had been friends for years. We ended up spending the rest of the day together and hit the town as a group that night and had the best time! This tour was amazing and a memory I will cherish the rest of my life; I cannot recommend enough and will definitely do it again someday! My brother and I purchased this tour for the wine and the opportunity to ride in the vintage VW bus. I will preface this review by stating that it may not be for everyone- the VW is old, cramped and lacks Airconditioning. But that is part of the charm. My brother and I were born in the 60s and...
My brother and I purchased this tour for the wine and the opportunity to ride in the vintage VW bus. I will preface this review by stating that it may not be for everyone- the VW is old, cramped and lacks Airconditioning. But that is part of the charm. My brother and I were born in the 60s and have fond memories of rides in VW’s throughout our childhood. We loved the fun van and the camaraderie of making new friends on our tour. If you are an extrovert that loves to meet new people and enjoy adventure then I recommend this tour. Our van had 8 passengers plus our guide Gurkan. Chris and I were assigned to sit in the front bench seat adjacent to the driver and the manual gearshifter. It was exhilarating to sit in front with the wind blowing through the windows. The complete tour from the Golden Gate Bridge stop to each of the wineries was awesome!! Gurkan strikes the right balance of talk/information as well as playing music and quiet time. All three wineries were great. The wine tasting fees are not included in the tour fee and some of the wineries deleted the fee in exchange for purchasing bottles. For my palate, the wines ranged from average in taste to excellent. Chris and I ultimately purchased a few bottles from each of the wineries. Wine diapers were available for purchase at the first winery and are perfect for safely transporting wine in checked luggage. Our tour had people from Australia, Venezuela and Puerto Rico. We all quickly made friends. The lunch at VJB Wineries was at our own expense and was excellent. Our group of 8 ordered a variety of flatbread, pizza, salad and charcuterie. I treated the group to a chocolate variety box. We all shared and everyone had a great time. The food was excellent. Chris and I highly recommend this tour!!!!
