Paddling Thetis Lake
Overview
If you’re new to stand up paddle boarding, launching your board and standing up on it may seem intimidating. But, with some tips and a little practice, you’ll be paddling away like it’s no big deal.
During this tour, we will explore Thetis Lake, Another of the many Capital Region Lake Parks, this is a very popular spot for families as it features a beautiful sandy beach. The park is actually comprised of two lakes-Upper and Lower Thetis. We will paddle from the main beach to the upper lake, we will stop for lunch on the water sitting on our boards and/or on the rocks when we will reach the upper side of the Lake. Bring your sandwichs and some water / drink and we will provide you with dry bags. you can enjoy swimming as well in this area and we can play different games with the boards before to head back to the main beach.

What to expect
Come spend 2-3 hours in one of the most beautiful spots in Victoria, Thetis lake, learning how to use your stand up paddle in the calm water of the lake. Just 20 minutes from Downtown Victoria, we will guide you through the peaceful water of Thetis Lake, the perfect place for learning SUP.
This is an area of great natural beauty with breathtaking views and is a perfect place to learn how to SUP. We will start by practicing few technics :
- Paddling in a straight line
- Forward Stroke
- Braking/Reverse stroke
- Sweep strokes
This exercise will help beginners to feel their balance easily and learn how to control the SUP before standing up and they will come back to if they lose their balance. We will paddle to the upper Thetis Lake. On our way, will help you improve your strike and use your paddle efficiently. We will stop on one of the small islands for a break before we paddle back to the main beach.
We will provide insurance, all the equipment, and professional instructions

It was a great experience and Naomi was awesome in showing us what to do. What a gorgeous warm lake to be on when it was so hot. Definitely would recommend for any level!
